Absolute Alex

20 mins to save the world, and Batman is playing marriage counselor to a pair of psychopaths. Ladies and gentlemen, #DetectiveComics 🤘 @tomtaylormade.bsky.social gives us some truly beautiful moments between The Freezes, as Victor demonstrates how deep his love for Nora truly is. Warms my heart 💙

With the impending launch of his new #Avengers book, Zdarsky proves he knows how to reset the board as #Armageddon comes to a close and I’m expecting our hero’s lingering guilt to be a driving factor moving forward in the new world order. And what about Colton? A true miracle or something else?

Anindito, Diaz, Alpizar, and Aburtov show us life among the ruins and you can feel the weight the heroes now carry. In particular Peter and Carol’s moments hint at their roles moving forward having been impacted in wildly different ways. For me, art has been a massive high point for this series.

My kid is 4 months old today. He’s grabbing things, rolling over, and “talking”. He’ll learn more every day, and one day decide what kind of person he wants to be. That’s exciting and scary, but I’ll support him no matter what. After all, if #Superman can do it for Jon, I can do it for my son.

In just two issues, #LegionofSuper-Heroes has become one of my favorite monthly reads. Between the world building, our heroes, the mystery RJ’s murder - @joshuawilliamson.bsky.social has found the perfect mix of action and intrigue in this far flung hero-less future…

@phillipkjohnson.bsky.social has done something incredible yet simple with #MidnightSpider-Man - invert the lesson. Having power doesn’t make you responsible, it makes you a monster. Now the question is whether or not Peter’s guilt can keep a monster in check?

Of all the “Midnight” books, #MidnightX-Men was the one I was most curious about. We’ve seen #Marvel do vampire stories before (e.g. Bloodhunt), so Hickman opts to let the vampirism act as a visual marker for a much darker political/religious allegory and leaves us wondering… How did this happen?

Its time for a history lesson! With “File #0”, @alewingpromotes.bsky.social writes an absolutely insane lore dump with deep character cuts, and name drops that will define the future for #AbsoluteGreenLantern and likely the entire Absolute Universe. The hierarchy of power is becoming all too clear

Okay, @jason-aaron.bsky.social, you got me. Not often a comic makes me feel GOOD. #AbsoluteSuperman is genuinely inspiring. To Steel, to me, to everyone. Inspiring us to be the best versions of ourselves, and making sure we let others know that we are…

At the 3nd of the day, we are the sum of 0ur actions. But what if it all adds up to z3r0? Just another entry in The 1nd3x. L3aving n0 mess for the cust0dian. With #TheDeadman, Prince is operating on the 10th floor of a 9 story building. Yet this empyrean is cold…

With Gotham’s destruction on the horizon, #Batman is on the hunt for the man who just might be able to cool Ivy’s heels - now if he could only avoid getting iced by his sardonic v̸a̸l̸e̸t̸ majordomo (preferred). An incredibly fun issue thanks to @mattfraction.bsky.social’s sharp writing…

@wescraigcomics.bsky.social introduced us to an aimless #Superman - helping those around him, but yearning for a greater purpose. And a certain intrepid reporter may just give him the direction he seeks. Despite its golden age setting, the world of #TheStranger feels all too familiar…

Now this is how you do a tie in issue! So many other events require you to read every involved title to understand anything, but @ryannorth.ca takes an “in media res” approach with #FantasticFour to draw you in before a wild reveal on the final page makes you go “whoa, how did this happen?!”…
