An interesting bunch of people that Kemi Badenoch keeps close... First it was making Joshua Bonehill-Paine, a man who was put in prison for antisemitism, an advisor. Now it turns out Jack Ross was also a close advisor, caught on camera offering to set up contract killings.

Great to see Labour's Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh taking up the idea of wearing the logos of companies that have bought and paid for her. The opening of the Jackdaw oilfield will make huge profits for Shell, who made almost $10bn in profits last quarter.

Yet energy bills for regular people will rise over 20% in January, pushing more into poverty. We need insulation. We need retrofit. We need renewables, not more, expensive and climate destroying gas. Labour are for corporations, not you.

Jackdaw approval is climate vandalism by Labour. Last year, Tom Collins MP claimed at an event that this Government was the "greenest in history".

The approval of Jackdaw gas field by the Labour Government is a total betrayal these warm words by Tom Collins and Andy Burnham. Worcester is already on the front line of climate change with more frequent and more extreme flooding. Our county burned this summer.

This is a total disgrace, by a Government that cares more about the profits of private companies like Shell and Equinor, who already make obscene profits due to Trump's war in Iran, than it does about "little people" like you or me, and our children, who will have to live with the consequences.

This summer, Andy Burnham visited Stourbridge just down the road after the devastating wildfires that ripped through homes. At the Labour Party conference he praised the Stourbridge community for pulling together.

This week a group commander at Hereford & Worcester Fire Service said it could happen again anywhere across the two counties, including here in Worcester.

Yeah but the vibes tho.

Look, I hate dickheads playing music on trains as much as anyone, but this is completely unenforceable. Meanwhile we're into the 4th week of gangs of fascists attacking houses in Salford and Burnham hasn't even mentioned it. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

and yet when we suggested reviewing the cycling ban in the centre of Worcester, there were howls of concern that every cyclist would knock down hundreds of grannies on each and every journey. Meanwhile when a 3 year old and a 5 year were hit by a car in Worcester… crickets.

Edward Tissiman@edtiss.bsky.social

Between 2021 and 2025, around 2 million cyclists passed the floating bus stops on Leith Street, Edinburgh, and around 5 million bus passengers boarded or alighted here. No injuries have been recorded. Over the same period, drivers injured around 600 Edinburgh pedestrians, killing 16.

We need to listen… Also the cost of Hinckley nuclear could have put Solar Panels on 25% of UK homes. True #renewables are so much better than oil, gas & nuclear.

It's World Menopause Day. It wasn't something that was on my calendar, but it is one of many things with women's health that doesn't get talked about enough. It's a natural part of life for half the population.

Going through it can affect sleep, working life, concentration and mental health - it can make you feel like you aren't you any more. Talking about it should be natural too.

Heat pumps & insulation would cut living costs more than new oil fields Isn't it strange how Andy Burnham's "pragmatic" approach to the North Sea involves doing exactly what fossil fuel lobbyists want? No party is serious about dealing with the cost of living unless they also tackle climate change

theguardian.comHeat pumps and insulation would cut UK living costs more than new oilfields, study suggestsWarm homes plan would create 50,000 jobs, compared with about 1,100 for Rosebank oilfield, thinktank finds

This would be climate vandalism and endanger our national security: fossil fuel dependence funds regimes like Putin and Iran. We will never solve the cost of living crisis if we don't end our dependence on gas. Unbelievable short sightedness by Burnham: clearly in hock to the fossil fuel industry.

How many more times are we going to intervene on prices while doing nothing to reduce consumption of energy? Put solar panels and batteries on every house in fuel poverty. Take VAT off retrofit. Give free insulation. Otherwise we’ll be back here again, again. www.theguardian.com/money/2026/o...

One of the best things about Zionism is Racism is watching Labour politicians make complete fools of themselves. I'll care what they think when they can call it a genocide in Palestine.

I requested to speak against the “Zionism is Racism” motion, but was not chosen. I voted against it and I am disappointed that it passed. I support this statement that the party has put out.

Dr Ellie Chowns MP@elliechowns.bsky.social

I am deeply saddened that the "Zionism is Racism" motion has passed.

Off to Green Party conference in Brighton today. Looking forward to what new party policy we make that Labour supporters dismiss as "crazy", "nuts" and "weird", and then copy next year at their own conference. We lead, they follow.

Andy Burnham spoke for an hour today at the Labour Party conference and only mentioned the climate once. He did not rule out more drilling in the North Sea. He did not rule out more runways. He did not talk about insulation or retrofitting.

Andy Burnham's Labour Party showed it is not serious about climate breakdown, even after 5 heat waves this summer and nearly 3,000 people dead. Even after he visited Stourbridge and saw first hand the destruction the climate emergency is wreaking.

Turns out doing nothing about these terrorists wasn’t “policing without fear or favour”, it was enabling and empowering them.

Roland Smith@rolandmcs.bsky.social

So they're now talking about attacking the system of policing and law. Arrest these f*ckers. Stop bowing down to them and dancing around them.

A joke policy. Governments have prioritised cheaper prices over reducing fossil fuel dependency for 20 years. Now prices higher than ever because of demand during a supply shock. Get on with investments that lower demand. Cheapest fuel is the fuel you don't use. www.theguardian.com/politics/...

theguardian.comLib Dems use conference to set out £2bn plan to cut fuel dutyEd Davey’s party made a series of proposals as concern grows among members that voters don’t know what its policies are or what it stands for

Locally so called "Green" Liberal Democrats couldn't even bring themselves to support a "review" of prohibition of cycling in the centre of Worcester.

Is there a problem Andy Burnham doesn't think a Mayor can fix? The problem with our water industry is not oversight - it's companies that have a duty to maximise shareholder value, rather than provide an efficient and effective water system.

Only the Green Party recognise the key steps needed to solve our housing crisis, so we don't condemn a whole generation of young people to homelessness: 1. Rent controls, to stop housing taking up more of your pay 2. Build 150,000 council homes a year, so supply increases

🏠 It does not increase the supply of housing. 💰 It does not stop your rent increasing faster than your pay. 🧳 It does not stop your landlord making you homeless if they decide to sell up.

To think 15 years ago Mike Foster was my Labour MP and would not reply to any tweets. Fast forward to now & he's shouting into the void of Twitter about me and @worcestergreens.bsky.social over and over again. Too bad I'm not on it anymore, but I don't support platforms owned by white supremacists.

Grateful to everyone who is following me on each platform - together we're building a community that will build a better Worcester and a better country for everyone. Hope is here! Use the link in my bio to find me and follow on other platforms.

Big Gorton & Denton vibes here: yet again Labour supporters simply can't fathom the amount of activists and campaign the Green Party musters when there is a sniff of victory.

Exactly so. Too often the police use the excuse of being "neutral" to justify inaction. Few feel safe when masked men all in black turn up on their streets. Fascist militia are not British and the police must protect our values. www.theguardian.com/politics/...
