Costs that are not separately metered should not be charged to the tenant as a percentage or extra cost. They should be part of the rent. State Legislatures could fix this in a week.

This isn’t surprising. Many of the girls recruited for the Epstein operations were living in shelters, or one step away from homelessness. No matter what you think of Ms. Arthur, and I’m appalled, they really know how to exploit the vulnerable.

Paying property taxes is not anything like renting. If you don’t pay your property taxes, the county may put a lien on your property. But if you don’t pay your rent, the landlord can evict you in short order. It’s not close to the same thing.

Do not drop your ballot in the book drop or leave it next to the door. Chain of custody is broken and the election workers will have to get in touch with you to come in and confirm your vote.

I wonder if landlord pricefixing extends to trying to increase rents for units that will become recontrolled once a tenant moves in to a vacancy decontrolled unit. Both tenant and landlord are computing the value and cost of rent control, but pricefixing may change the computation.
