Apparently a grey-haired Grandad in his 50’s, which is weird ‘cos I swear I was only in my twenties yesterday…👴🏻 Likes: Whisky, Guinness and Red Wine. Dislikes: The day after Whisky, Guinness and Red Wine…

My brother died in a diving accident 26 years ago. It was sudden and devastating. If I’ve learnt anything about grief it’s represented by this photo. It becomes part of you. You don’t get over it, or through it. It becomes part of you and you grow round it. And you WILL smile and laugh again

There should be statues to this guy everywhere, because without him there wouldn’t be statues, or buildings, or any kind of sentient life on this planet anywhere. Genuinely the most consequential decision any human has ever made, and he made the right one. The pinnacle of humanity.

Happy Stanislav Petrov Day He passed in 2017. As Encyclopedia Britannica puts it, “He is survived by his two children, two grandchildren, and the entire human race.” If you don't know his story, please take 3 minutes now to learn it. @gchalliance.bsky.social @docsforclimate.bsky.social

For the love of Jimi, would you all just buy something from this incredibly talented artist? I did, and look what I got to own 👇👇👇

I could do with some boosts. And wispas but mainly boosts.

I don’t believe in speaking ill of the dead, so in praise of Anne Widdecombe I’ll just say her death has undoubtedly increased the planet’s level of compassion and empathy

I’m assuming Lee Dixon had the same commentating coach as Andy Townsend. And by that I mean the bloke standing at the end of the bar that once coached an under-12 team, but this was before you needed badges and the nonce-checks… #ENGCRO

‘Have I still got the gold ring? What do you fucking think you simpleton? But I’ll be the first one to better it, oh yes’s I will. It’s’ll never gets the better of my’s thoughts and broad words..’

Tony Blair should be on trial for his War Crimes.

Saw Jethro Tull live tonight. Fucking amazing, there’s nothing like them, who puts flute with rock and makes it sing? Now listening to Dylan’s Desire with a drink in hand….👌

I wonder what the odds are on this fucker being burnt to the ground within a week?

Polymarket is opening a bar in Washington, D.C. tomorrow called The Situation Room. Per Polymarket: "Imagine a sports bar… but just for situation monitoring — live X feeds, flight radar, Bloomberg terminals, and Polymarket screens."

And the loser SUN says they’ll do it FOR FREE!!! LEFT WING COMMUNIST DEMS will support this because they HATE hard-working oil executives and Arab billionaires, but AMERICA will NOT accept this. WE will create never ending clouds and end the so-called ‘SUN’ once and for all…

So not asking about any ‘past’ conversations then? I’m sure they have perfectly legitimate reasons for not looking under that rock…

Jim Pickard@pickardje.bsky.social

Exclusive: Ministers and civil servants have been told to report any future conversations with Global Counsel, the lobbying firm co-founded by Lord Peter Mandelson, in the latest fallout from his ties to Jeffrey Epstein www.ft.com/content/124e...

‘Quick we need to announce something the voters will love to distract from Mandelson! No, not OUR voters obvs, Farage’s…’

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

The Home Office now describes asylum seekers as "illegal immigrants [living in hotels]" with no reference to the reason that these people are in government-funded accommodation is that this government has taken & will process the asylum claim from them in 98-99% of cases of unauthorised entry.

Starmer (or more likely McSweeney) chose Mandelson as US Ambassador BECAUSE of his links to Epstein, not in spite of them. Genius 3D chess move having that paedo in your mutuals to aid the Trump-whispering…

Will Jennings📉🗳️@drjennings.bsky.social

There's no reason to accept this as normal, though. Much of Starmer and Labour's unpopularity is not misfortune but his own doing. Mandelson was a choice. Consistently pursuing policy positions designed to appeal to people who will not vote for you - and alienating core supporters - is a choice.

Rich people, you get bespoke tutoring by an individual who you will form a strong relationship with and who will understand your strengths, weaknesses and support needs. Poor people, you get a hallucinating jumped-up calculator that will guess at the answer and picture you in a bikini…

We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it. AI can help us do that. Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/01...

Does anyone know what Starmer believes? Does anyone know what Starmer cares about? Does anyone know what Starmer is driven by? Does anyone know what Starmer is PM for? The man is pathetic. We wanted change, we got beige… #byebyelabour

I’m assuming this officer is the only one that can a speak a second European language?

BREAKING: The UK is sending a single military officer to Greenland at the request of Denmark to participate in a multi-nation exercise

I can fully get on board with the theme tune to Cheers being effectively recommended public policy. And coincidentally makes me feel a lot better about the 4 hours I spent in the pub last night…🍻

Zoë Grünewald@zoegrunewald.bsky.social

A lot of words to basically say: OK, GOING TO THE PUB MIGHT NOT BE GOOD FOR YOUR WAISTLINE/SLEEP/WALLET but it might be really really good for your friendships, stress, connections and happiness. So it's actually healthy to go to the pub, you guys, and maybe we should all just do that a bit more

Every time there's a breaking story about a celeb's treatment of women, everyone in the book world asks, "Is it finally Walliams?" Well, it finally is.

Ok, it’s nearly Christmas, but we all know Cadburys Cream Eggs will be in the shops Boxing Day. With that in mind here’s some Easter art for everyone. Christian? Pagan? Chloe caters for all 🧔🏽‍♀️🐰

I’ve put all these nice pictures of Jesuses and bunnies on my website as originals for sale. Please support my art if you can. It’s both ‘fun’ and ACHINGLY SERIOUS. Ta www.chloecumming.com/monoprintdra...

Netflix just bought everything Warner Bros ever did or owned for £86bn. I’m not saying that’s good business, I’m just saying No-Friends Zuck is very bad at this…

Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

New AI-generated Sarah Vine column just landed… #dailymail

Qsy@qsy.bsky.social

Oh yeah btw the reason why Vine is being relaunched with great fanfare and no Al is because it's jointly operated with an Al company and they probably don;t want to pollute their scrap pile with stuff they've already shat out.

Come on, somebody claim it’s actually white and gold…

There’s going to be a hell of a lot of properties valued at £1,999,999 in 2028 then, as their owners desperately try to avoid paying what amounts to a 0.125% annual tax…

Best for Britain@bestforbritain.org

🚨 BREXIT BUDGET🚨 "From 2028, I am introducing a high value council tax surcharge in England. An annual £2,500 charge for properties worth more than £2 million, rising to £7,500 for properties worth more than £5 million."

Ok @zackpolanski.bsky.social you’ve got my vote. Labour is dead as a left-leaning cooperative. They are a government of fearfulness, dread and despair. And now apparently racism and xenophobia is their only way out… That’s not the future I want for myself, my kids or my grandkids. #choosehope

Shabana Mahmood tells Sunday Times it should take 20 years for somebody granted refugee status in UK to secure permanent status (ie, reapply 6 times) if came without permission. Paper says Denmark has toughest settlement timeline (8 years) but UK govt wants longer www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

I’m a middle-aged left-leaning anyone-but-Tory voter in a staunchly Tory (even now…🙄) constituency. Nothing about this makes me want to vote Labour. It’s pathetic and it’s racist. Immigration builds countries, but you morons can’t see that. Fuck the lot of you.
