Hi I'm Alnarra, I am a furry, ace, 36 year old cat pretending to be a human who does cybersecurity. I try to be as friendly as possible and will post about Star Trek, Warcraft, Cybersecurity and Occasionally my trash political takes.

Ok so We do have a for sure, certified vulnerability, that if ASLR if off should work like a charm, but ASLR has been a standard for 20 years, so this is unreliable at best yes? Cloudflares boasting they've implemented defenses, against what exactly?

Like with the netscaler vulnerability, I knew literally within an hour of Citrix's patch what the actual POC would look like in network logs. It's been nearly 14 hours since PHP's patch dropped and I still can't for the life of me find examples of what this looks like.

Like with shit like this I expect Query Strings, I expect sample POST headers, something that makes it clear what data is actually being passed to a PHP based webserver to get the OOM exploit working. All I've seen is terminal screens with a .py script they can't show returning a UID for php.

The more I dig into this, the more convinced I become that there isn't actually a working publicly available POC and the "attacks" the honeypots are getting wouldn't work against real systems.

And like I know part of this is our great Security Theater where we hide stuff for a little bit but like I had a pretty cognizant query string for log4j within an hour. I've seen nothing that isn't vibe coded slop for this.

I guess I say this because like your WAF has been shooting down 1=1 SQL injections for literal decades, and like yeah technically its' defending you against a SQL injection, but much like conficker like it's just not a real threat.

We know /someone/ has the real POC exploit that does actually work, quite a few someone, but I can not for the life of me find any actual details of what that exploit looks like. Watchtower / Cloudflare claim they're seeing it. but is that actually the exploit?

Does it reliably work with ASLR turned one? And if so have they published the expected incoming structure of the attack? Like I've seen SIGMA rulesets looking for PHP logs AFTER the attack would have worked, but not the actual attack sequence

I have a ton of friends who are single, but I think we're all also at that age where we're like "I love you as a friend, but if you start showing up in my house and eating my food regularly we're gonna have to fight"

As I was doing keys last night... I do wish the vanilla retail UI Nameplates would reflect at a glance. - A mob that has something that can be soothed - A mob that has something that can be purged / spellstolen When you have a bunch of mobs stacked it can be hard to find the 'big red one'

It's so depressing watching the second order effects of all the god awful policy decisions Regan Republicans in the 80's made now almost 40 years later coming home to roost. It really can not be understated how damaging the replacement of countless progressive legislators during 1980 was to the US.

The bond market is collapsing, why? Because there are no pensions. Why are there no pensions? Because companies got rid of them in the 1990's. Why did they get rid of them? Because the unions enforcing them collapsed? Why did the unions collapse? Because Regan gutted them.

I can’t tell if it’s designed as an anti spam measure or there’s something else going on, was trying to point out what was pretty clear botting activity and mentioned yandex by its full url and it was immediately pulled

The real threat isn't the hyper fuzzer 9000 finding vulnerabilities, it's going to be the Decomplile and recompile 9000 bot basically meaning that you don't need to break in and steal source code anymore to start hunting for vulnerabilities.

It will be trivial to basically take major products and just de-obfuscate and de-compile major enterprise grade products and allow skilled threat actors to go hunting.

Back in 2011 I worked for a company that used an F5 in Bermuda to charge 700% interest loans to people in New York, and somehow that was still more ethical than Klarna who I'm 95% sure employed most of our folks when New York shut us down.

Now would be an incredibly shit time for a Hurricane to form in the Atlantic or Gulf and beeline it towards Houston 51% of Russian Refinery Capacity Destroyed 4 Tankers attacked today Multiple attacks on the Saudi East / West Pipeline and a number of refineries.

The problem is, somewhere along the way, we allowed a statistician to convince business majors that an excel spreadsheet could tell them more about their business than just opening their eyes. We live in a world where Qualitative analysis is despised even with the worst quantitative

It is funny watching software companies get hoisted by their own petard as various models are being used to decompile their code bases to source and watch as the people doing it go "nuh uh isn't stealing! it's 'creatively recreating!'" Like did you think the thievery would stop at books and art?

That Disney et all got conned into basically buying into the AI hype rather than suing them into oblivion for blatant copyright infringement is going to suck when courts are like "You had the chance to sue earlier when the models sucked."

My frustration with tinkerer is we've had tinkerer since vanilla, engineering just sucks because they're afraid of making it a Meta Required profession again

AI is alive in the same way my fake olive tree is a plant It’s designed to look like something and if you aren’t being to discerning you’d be like “oh an olive tree” but under scrutiny you would realize it isn’t in fact a plant AI is an algorithm that spits out books and Reddit comments

Ai bros are sure that ai is alive because they think machine learning and what a neuron does are remotely comparable in even the slightest degree. No child a transistor and a neuron aren’t actually “basically the same” Because none of them took more than biology 101
