Devil's Gambit has been drawn by hand, pixel by pixel, at crazy work rates (it probably has close to 300 pieces between illustrations and sprites), i used to be ashamed how often i had to balance quality and deadlines, but nowadays i feel so proud of all those little imperfections.

Year 200ac- Man this statue is so perfect and immaculate, it's clearly greekslop, but this Jesus sketch with no anatomy done in crayons that's the shit! Year 2026- Man this nextfest game looks like AAA slopreal engine shit, but this indie game made with crayons and stick figures, that's the shit!

When we release the definitive edition for patrons and steam i will sand some rough edges (and paint all the BGs by hand, that's my biggest regret), but i'm happy that so much imperfect humanity is there, and will stay there, in this sea mechanical hollowness.

#EpicGames switching to vibe coding is the weirdest lose-lose gambit i can think off: if it doesn't work out you have buried your technological lead, and if it works, then any kid with a claude subscription can give the #godot foundation a deferred rendered that outcompetes your licensing terms.

My handle has been broken for weeks because I had the misfortune of registering a domain with @bsky.app. Fair warning to anybody: do not deal with their domain system in any way. They took the money, basically squatted the address, gave me no updates, left this account unusable FOR TWO WEEKS.

Yes i'm bitter that the only windows app I could not replace switching to linux is #clipstudiopaint. which now works with a mix of necromancy, wine, DXVK, cat hair, and a demon core of KDE plasma settings. But ehi! Next update of Devil's Gambit has been entirely developed on Linux!
