Financial literacy is key to building a strong financial future. That’s why I teamed up with FICO to bring a workshop on budgeting, saving, investing, and building credit to UMES to help students make informed financial decisions.

I enjoyed touring the Junior Achievement Center in Salisbury and seeing middle school students learn about financial literacy and global finance. Investing in these skills early helps prepare the next generation to make informed financial decisions and succeed.

It was informative to hear from women business owners from across the Eastern Shore. They shared their concerns from health care coverage to transportation access. I look forward to working collaboratively with many of these leaders to find innovative solutions.

In June, we celebrated a major milestone for the Port of Baltimore with the launch of double-stack rail service through the Howard Street Tunnel. This infrastructure will strengthen our economy, reduce congestion, improve supply chains, and help us reach our environmental goals.

For generations, immigrants and refugees have helped strengthen our communities. Proud to celebrate $300,000 in federal funding for Global Refuge to help newcomers build careers, find stability, and put down roots here in Maryland.

For 33 years, Baltimore’s Civil Rights Breakfast has brought people together to honor our progress and recommit to the work that lies ahead. This city has a deep civil rights legacy, built by people who refused to let anyone else determine what was possible.

I want to thank Mayor Scott and his team for joining the Maryland Delegation as we discuss bringing federal resources to Baltimore. Team Maryland remains committed to supporting Baltimore and fighting to ensure Baltimore has what it needs to thrive.

RFK Jr.’s leadership at HHS has been absolutely disastrous. Measles is surging, public health systems have been weakened, and families deserve science-based information—not conspiracy theories—when it comes to their children’s health.

Congratulations to the Hyattsville/Landover Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. on the grand opening of their new home! This space represents a lasting commitment to mentorship, opportunity, and investing in the next generation of young people.

Had the best time celebrating Senator Barbara Mikulski's birthday, a true Maryland trailblazer. After a lifetime of opening doors for others, two years ago, she quite literally opened the Senate doors for me and welcomed me to the floor. Thank you, Senator Mikulski!

Trump’s nominee to lead the FDA can’t answer whether or not she believes that birth control contaminates our drinking water?? She'll be the one in charge of regulating medication. Yet her response shows she'll only advance RFK Jr.'s conspiracies.

Families should not have to wonder whether the products they rely on are safe. These recalls are yet another reminder of what happens when we lack leadership and oversight. RFK Jr. is steering our nation’s public health systems into the ground and Americans deserve better.

America needs to be a leader in this moment. The U.S. needs to push for clear global standards on how AI models are developed, tested, and used.

EXCLUSIVE: A group of 17 Democratic senators are urging Trump to seek a formal agreement with China on slowing or pausing AI development at his summit with Xi Jinping.

I was grateful to meet with Maryland Gold Star families during Gold Star Families Advocacy Week. We have a responsibility to honor their loved ones’ service and ensure surviving families receive the support and benefits they've earned.

Diesel keeps Maryland’s businesses running. A year ago, it was $3.70 a gallon. Today, it’s a record $6.49. Farmers and small businesses feel that increase first, and then it ripples through our entire economy. This Admin's war with Iran continues to hurt everyday Americans.

Men’s health deserves more honest conversations. Join me, MedStar Health, and United Way of the National Capital Area for Real Men, Real Talk — a judgment-free conversation about the physical, mental, and emotional health of men and boys. Register today: t.ly/RMRT2

For nearly 40 hours, residents in Frederick watched an ICE operation unfold in their neighborhood — one that turned violent and included attempts to intimidate those who spoke up. Marylanders care about their neighbors. There is no place for ICE's cruelty in our communities.

AI innovation is moving fast, and we have a responsibility to make sure it moves forward responsibly. I’m going to be pushing for guardrails that protect our privacy, strengthen cybersecurity, and keep Americans safe.

I was glad to meet with Liberian President Joseph Boakai to discuss the longstanding ties between Maryland and Liberia and opportunities to strengthen our partnership through trade, health care, education, and economic development.

This ruling is a win for Maryland voters. The Supreme Court rejected the Trump Administration’s latest attempt to restrict mail-in voting ahead of the midterms. Mail-in voting is safe and secure, and our democracy is stronger when every eligible voter can participate.

It was great to welcome Senator Craig Zucker and the Maryland Democratic Senate Caucus Fellows to the Capitol this summer. I enjoyed hearing about the conversations they’ve had with Marylanders while knocking doors and what they’ve learned about the issues that matter most across our state.

Happy Labor Day, Maryland! Today, we honor the workers who are the backbone of our nation and the unions that stand beside them. I will always fight to ensure every worker is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

I want to thank my summer intern class for all of their hard work this semester. From assisting constituents to supporting our team each day, their contributions made a real impact across our offices and throughout Maryland.

American families deserve to know that their food is safe. Under RFK Jr.'s leadership and after this Administration fired safety experts at the FDA, CDC, and USDA, Cyclospora is surging and food recalls are now commonplace.

It was great to join seniors in Garrett County. Marylanders deserve affordable housing, groceries, health care, and the security they’ve worked a lifetime to earn. I’ll keep fighting in the Senate to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and our civil liberties.

We are experiencing a measles crisis in America right now. And all at the hands of HHS Secretary RFK Jr. Americans deserve to know the truth and the facts: vaccines are safe. RFK Jr. refuses to tell the truth – Americans can’t afford another day with him in charge.

I was the first Senator to call on RFK Jr. to resign or be fired in May 2025, and I will keep making that call. Under his leadership we've had the worst measles outbreak in 35 years — including a new outbreak in three Maryland counties and two deaths in Pennsylvania.

The FBI headquarters belongs in Greenbelt, Maryland. It’s what I fought for as Prince George’s County Executive and it’s a fight I have continued in the United States Senate. I will keep fighting to make sure these taxpayer dollars create jobs and opportunity across our entire region.

President Trump calls voting by mail “cheating”—yet votes by mail himself? Mail voting ensures our seniors, military, students, and Americans with disabilities can have access to the voting booth. We will fight to make sure ALL Americans can vote.

As Prince George’s County Executive, I fought to bring the FBI headquarters to Maryland, and I’m continuing that fight as a U.S. Senator. Greenbelt, Maryland was selected after a years-long competitive process and the court has made it clear that Trump can’t just toss that work aside.

Greenbelt, Maryland was selected as the new FBI headquarters after a decades-long, fair, competitive process and the Trump Admin had no right to override it. The court agreed. Team Maryland will keep fighting to bring the FBI’s new headquarters to Maryland.

No parent should have to take on debt just to get their kids ready for school. My Back-to-School Supplies Affordability Act would get Trump’s tariffs off essential school supplies and bring costs down for families.
