The Lumo 2.0 update is significantly better than I expected. I think I might start paying, although I wish @proton.me would make it clearer if having Proton Unlimited gives you any form of bundle discount or not if you get @asklumo.proton.me Either way I love that lumo exists as an alternative

Lumo@asklumo.proton.me

AI knows more about you than any other technology. Most mine your data to train their models and profile your behavior, which later gets sold to advertisers. Lumo doesn’t. And it just got a massive upgrade. Here’s Lumo 2.0, the world’s most-private AI ⬇️ 🧵 1/6

I don't use perplexity day to day, but the Samsung Bixby integration with perplexity might make me give it a go. It's genuinely made Bixby the best smart assistant I've used across Google Gemini, Amazon Alexa and Siri. I wish Samsung made their smart speaker as I'd actually invest in it

I can not be the only person who thought the question that the journalist asked Estaquio about his dead parents and child was absolutely insane? #WorldCup #Canada #SouthAfrica

This new Snapseed update is crazy. I recently invested in some Freewell phone lens to see if I really could push the limits of my phone and use it as a video and photo powerhouse, and snapseed is the final piece to the puzzle. Super excited to see what it can do

This is in the same energy as the disabled community not being thought about when pushing back on self driving cars. I am typically not keen on Meta glasses but if it enables people with low vision or other disabilities I'm not aware of gain autonomy, this tech can't be ignored

Sarah Rose@thesarahrose.bsky.social

The good taxpayers of New York have given me a pair of Meta glasses because I am low vision disabled, and I seem to have used them more than a lot of people on here, so let me say a little about my experiences:

I don't know what the right answer is, there is obviously privacy concerns, but we have to find a good medium between fulfilling this need in society and still maintaining privacy and data sovereignty

While Spotify had it's outage yesterday I switched to YouTube Music for a bit and for some reason it sounded better. Turns out 'high' on Spotify streams at 160 kb/s, YT Music at 260 kb/s. I switched to lossless on Spotify and YT Music STILL sounds better? SOMEONE IS LYING TO ME

I have employed all my audiophile friends to check out what the hell is happening and am I tripping. Will report back to my audience of 0 people

So far all my friends have agreed that YouTube Music sounds better than Spotify Lossless, to all our confusion. A friend who also has Apple Music has said that Apple Music has by far the best quality at Lossless, which if anything is Lossless, I'd expect. Then why the hell am I paying Spotify?

I pay for YouTube, and I've been considering switching off Spotify for ages to reduce the amount of subscriptions, but this is making it significantly easier

I hated programming on my personal Mac as I always ended up getting frustrated with clunky VS Code. Switched to @zed.dev and it has genuinely changed the game for me. Never going back to VS Code if I can avoid it

@davidpierce.xyz I've actually started using YouTube Music (😱) for podcasts BECAUSE I find that I sometimes feel like I'm missing out without the video, so wanted to be able to switch video to audio quickly E.g. the mini games (?) on the vibe coded ranking app defo felt more video than audio

David Pierce@davidpierce.xyz

It's not the intention! The goal is very much not to be a video-first podcast, and in virtually every way I don't think we are. BMW pictures are a rare exception, and I promise they'll stay rare

The previously unreleased tracks from Rosalia's Lux are genuine bangers, crazy that these were limited to the physical release - although I kinda love it that it was

I started posting my creative work on Social Media and I deeply enjoyed it. It forced me to be creative and made me get out of my rut, but very quickly I found myself subconsciously or consciously trying to appease the algorithm, and I fell into the loop of creating things I don't actually like

I've stopped posting as a result, but I've also slowed down on my creative activities. Is that good? It's a turmoil I battle with a lot with the voices in my head

I'm in two minds about it being released on streaming platforms. There's something about the fact it wasn't available on streaming platforms that was rejecting the economic model of distribution we have at the moment, but also not everyone can afford buying physical versions of everything

I go in and out of appreciating social media and technology. I am constantly being pulled in the direction of social media being empowering and enables otherwise unheard voices to be heard, with the fact that these platforms are designed to make us mad and engage and fight

Announcing this on April 1st is certainly a choice - I didn't believe it for the longest time! Excited to get into this and see what its about

Damn I've really been sleeping on Quadeca. Very impressive to break the perception of "Youtube" rapper and actually develop a genuine sound of your own

Tried a standing desk for the first time at work today. I always thought it would tire me out, but who'd have thought it's brilliant for those who fidget a lot sitting down

Took a bit of a well needed break on here. But I'm back and will be posting more of the stuff I'm working in - So expect more post on software dev, football analytics, photography, video editing, audio engineering and motion design

This is too easy

United winning in a game that is a "Do or Die" game for Amorim is peak United. Watch how they win this and they wither in poor performances for the next month or so, only for Amorim to be sacked around Christmas or New Years

This is basically my experience with using LLMs in general - which is why I've turned off history on all the LLMs I use and always create new chats after 3-5 messages. It gets too overwhelming for me. Keeping the context window short is the only thing that keeps it digestible for me

Matthew Green@matthewdgreen.bsky.social

I’m sure I should have been vibe coding with a proper IDE rather than copy/paste from an LLM, but man does AI-generated code get confusing and spaghetti after a few fixes. You have to force it to use subroutines or it’ll just produce special case after special case in one massive routine.

Hoto Tools makes me want to get into a hobby that would make me use those tools. I have the screwdriver from blackfriday last year and it's become my favourite tool by FAR and I look for excuses to use it

Bit the bullet and bought ON1 Pro Raw and honestly, it's been such a worth it purchase. I've been looking for a one-time purchase comprehensive photography editing and catalogue app across android, pc and mac that WORKS for SO LONG and it feels great to FINALLY FIND ONE.

AI features in the app actually help me? Like the auto masking of the sky or people. Brilliance AI is actually really good. I've started using it on photos where I feel something is off but I don't know where to start. The best part is, I DON'T HAVE TO USE THEM IF I DON'T WANT TO

I've been a big advocate for Affinity Suite and have bought the suite for both V1 and V2. I'm quite happy to keep using Affinity V2. I WANT the new Affinity x Canva thing to be free and good, but I just don't trust it will be free forever. Eurgh.

I've come across @graphiteeditor.bsky.social, which I will definitely be following and will look to use. The one thing I am missing now is a good lightroom equivalent. I want a good batch photo colour correcting application - I'm willing to pay! I just can't find one as smooth as lightroom

Thing is, I am not against subscriptions if they are reasonably priced and I get genuine value from it, but due to bad actors, it takes a LOT for me to trust a company with subscriptions. There is always weird lockins and inconvenience to exit the system

I'm currently trying to extract all my Dropbox files to my NAS, and it's been a NIGHTMARE. It takes so long, there's no real tool for it from Dropbox and also for me, I found that Dropbox had become very slow? I suspect they had switched to cold storage or something, but it took ages to load

I would 100% use pitchfork as a site more if this was a thing. It will be like IMDb and it's actually a really important feature for me as I don't always agree/see art the way critics and reviewers do

I started this yesterday and I haven't had a game make me want to keep playing against all my real life world responsibilities in a while. I never considered that untreated ADHD might have an effect on the type of games I want to consume...I might have to revisit many other games I had dismissed

Amin@aminalytics.bsky.social

I don't know if it's me getting old or actually having my ADHD treated now, but slower games like No Man's Sky really appeal to me. My gaming style is really changing and I am now drawn more to the casual style and slow exploring games. Just bought No Man's Sky on the PS5, let's see if this stands
