How can anybody struggle coming up with an idea for a software project ? as if everything were perfect. Let me tell you its not, and we are far from everything being perfect. You can be struggling for an idea that will bring money fast, thats a whole other problem. not all software have to be a SaaS

Stop caring too deeply about privacy. Trying to control every trace is just a rabbit hole. Chasing GrapheneOS, burner numbers, and Tor tohide daily life will make you care even less than anything. Unless you're in politics, a journalist, or a public figure, it literally never affects your life. 1/3

Don't confuse privacy with basic security. Getting scammed on shady sites is a security issue, not privacy. Data collection isn't evil. I actually want personalized ads. People blindly repeat that it’s bad when it’s just smart convenience. 2/3

I get the objections: You don't give up free speech just because you have nothing to say.It’s not having something to hide, it’s not giving authorities ammo against you. Why is the donating experience this bad. You search the documentation, website and wonder where it is, or read the readme and realize its absent, that there is NOTING set in place to receive funding, or that github sponsor is absent on mobile app, that the applications store policies are HORRIBLE.

Even when you finally find the way to donate, its always different services being used, you need account on all those different services. Those services doesn't support your prefered payment solution.

Self-hosted software needs to start offering SQLite / file-based databases as an option. Your average self-hoster doesn't need a dedicated PostgreSQL or MySQL. Save your software from being deleted just because it consumes too many resources on a cheap VPS shared across 10 other self-hosted apps

Just wrapped releases of the UI and API for OpenMeet. Big change is that all users must have a PDS, and if they don't, we supply it. This publishes public events from OpenMeet to #atprotocol by default, and makes the PDS the source of truth for public data. Live now at platform.openmeet.net.
