#hobbystreak day 1033 Just dorn progress. The orange and black are done bar edge highlights, silver is inked and highlighted, red is highlighted up too. Definitely looks the part now if you can ignore the crewmember unusual skin tone!

#hobbystreak day 1030 Continued work on the rogal dorn. The oranges are highlighted so I'm working on the black now. Perhaps more importantly I've added decals to my leman russes. You have to have those little safety warnings. Can't die for the Emperor if you die to HSE failings!

#hobbystreak day 1027 Decided to add some transfers to my Chimeras, eventually I'll get round to all my tanks. Also played my 2nd league game, a win against knights. I feel I played well eg this chimera, either they use knight killing it and not my tanks or I took thier home. Either way I won.

#hobbystreak day 1022 The dwarf cart is painted. Not sure when I'll ever use a mining cart, but it's a fun piece to paint. I have another 40k league game tomorrow, so I've been progressing on my rogal dorn, some messy, patchy basecoats to mark out where the colours will go.

#hobbystreak day 1019 The hammerers are finished (bar the banner and orher 10 troops) so its on to the next unit. Slapped some paint on the mining cart from skull pass. With the twin abilities to give out a useless ranged attack, and to blow up your own models. This may stay on the shelf...

#hobbystreak day 1017 I was hoping to say the hammerers were complete, but I've just noticed the gloves have rings over them. Oh well, they still need shields and a banner anyhow, so merely completeish for now! Also played my first league game with my guard. New space marines are a terror!

#hobbystreak day 1012 The hammerers are progressing nicely, getting a colour highlighted each day. Soon they'll be ready to reinforce my dwarfs. I had a 1k game vs empire which was fun even if a lot went wrong! The Rogal Dorn I need for my 40k league has it's silver basecoated, early days there.

#hobbystreak day 1008 While I'm very much in an old world mood, and my hammerers and miners are making progress... The return of my clubs 40k league has put some fire under me to finish up some guard. Tonight i finished up an enginseer and a Vanquisher turret for my league list.

Jumped on blender today to design then print this base adapter movement tray. Grombrindal and pals can now lead my hammerers to war!

#hobbystreak day 1004 Making good Dwarfen progress. The first 10 hammerers are basecoated and starting to get inked. 5 miners are stripped, based and ready to spray, along with the 7th ed 'mining cart'. And as a bonus I've started magnetising my painted dwarfs, so far 30 done!

They're Strip miners! Haha Get it? I'll... I'll just go...

#hobbystreak day 1001 (yesterday) I had hoped to take day 1000 off for a paintathon, but alas life is too busy. Instead it's modest progress, as hobbystreak tends to be, with some finished artillery bases and progress on the hammerers.

#hobbystreak day 998 With a big enough hammer everything looks like a nail! First couple of colours have been applied to my hammerers. Mostly though, today was a 2k game of #OldWorld vs Ogres, the longbeards have since been grumbling that Ogres used to be tougher! Also, more base sand!

My current project pile is very exciting right now! More gyrocopters are always good. Hammerers are absolutely iconic. And then my full-metal dwarf army needs a king on shieldbearers. As far as I know theres only 1 metal choice! Gotrek, Bugman and Grombrindal join the throng!

#hobbystreak day 994 With 6 new warriors added to the unit, my 80s metal dwarf warriors are complete! Sure this unit has been complete before, but I had used some great weapon sculpts and plastixs to fill it out. It's now all metal, all sword, all board, and all dwarf!

#hobbystreak day 989 Played battle march last night it's an excellent system for mini stories to unfold. The goblins were routed by the dwarven engineer army, the 11 dwarven deaths will all be recorded as grudges in the book! Basecoats begin on 6 replacements and I'm working on my Vanq turret.

#hobbystreak day 984 A bitty few days, finished my Dwarf engineer for Old World. Finished assembling my rogal dorn, hopefully built to pass as both a commander and not. And then i cleaned and assembled 6 dwarf warriors from the late 80s/early 90s to bring my unit to 20.

Gods painting Old world is fun. Here's my planned battle march list. Is it good? No, but it does have a flame cannon! Are they good? I mean... aesthetically they are top tier and that has to count for something!

#hobbystreak day 980 With my 40k league over, it's time to look at something other than my Guard army. My local club is starting to get pretty interested in Old World, so my all-metal Dwarf army is getting some reinforcements ready for a battle march game!

#hobbystreak day 978 Rather than finishing my fob crew, I've been assembling, and magnetising my first big tank. My league games have shown both a lack of punch, and a lack of mid table brawling. So hopefully a Rogal dorn will hope answer those issues.

Hard to know what's the more satisfying hobby moment: Putting a fresh blade onto the hobby knife. Or getting to the end of a painting session and finally getting to enjoy your drink!

#hobbystreak day 974 They're done! Enough to play in tomorrow's game! Still have 2 part painted crew and the gun operators need camo, but these are ready enough to hit the table and hopefully kill some knights!

#hobbystreak day 971 The FOBs themselves are done, so its time to work on the crew, fortunately i'm fairly experienced at painting catachans now, so this is going a bit quicker. All basecoats done, onto the highlights! Should have these finished after a couple more good painting sessions!

#hobbystreak day 967 Life is still proving busy, so painting time remains limited. Still making some nice progress on the FOBs. Metals and reds are highlighted, the camo has been tidied up and just needs edge highlights now, the bases are finished. So it is mostly crew and details left.

#hobbystreak day 961 I've spent the last few nights doing the bases for my field ordinance teams. And what massive bases they are! Just a few crates left to do on one. In the background I've also been doing some casting. Using blue stuff and milliput to clone parts to make some fun order tokens.

#hobbystreak day 958 The camo pattern does a lot to make my catachan theme work. Being bright orange next to black it also takes a fair bit of work! I may do the bases next, it would be a nice way to feel the unit is approaching tabletop ready!

#hobbystreak day 956 If you want to get bang for your hobby buck then fully magnetise and paint some FOBs. There's 3 weapon options, but the minis are 50% guns so including the carraige thats 200% painting per mini! Inked the metals and got the first highlights on the reds. Good steady progress.

#hobbystreak day 954 Basecoating my FOBs today. Its clear that this will be a slog! I'm doing the right thing and painting all the magnetised weapons at once, so I'm not adding to my weapon backlog. With each platform having 3 guns, 2 shields, 3 crew, and a huge base theres a lot to do!

Continuing on revisiting my slightly unfinished guard minis. 'Lord solar' here was finished up for a tournament, but still had some unpainted details. Fixed up a few little issues and now I can call him done!

#hobbystreak day 942 Sick days = slow work on sentinel weapons. Don't know if I'll be using flamers, but autocannons are becoming a favourite weapon. Also played my second league game and secured a win. Highlight was ramming a banesword with a chimera. It exploded destroying a whole table quarter.

#hobbystreak day 939 Thanks to my son having a lie-in I was able to get an early bit of painting in and finish off the classic metal Ogryn squad. Ready to jump in a chimera with 'big hat man' and cause havoc in tonight's game! Hoping they don't suffer the newly painted minis curse!

#hobbystreak day 936 With a game coming up I should be painting Ogryn. So anyway I built and magnetised 2 FOBs. I don't know how to use this unit, the indirect option, the rocket that has dakka, or the heavy lascannons that just dare your opponents vehicles to say hi. Im leaning that way atm.

#hobbystreak day 932 With my game group saying points changes are expected tonight and guards winrate being... not high... I may be needing these Ogryn to make my army legal again! Bases done, basecoats finished and inks on. Time to highlight starting with red.

#hobbystreak day 928 With my Microsol order arriving I could finish the Crimson Fist Lieutenant! The transfer isn't perfect, I need to work on wrinkle prevention, but practice makes perfect. Very proud of this mini, the question is do I paint my Armageddon box as Lamenters or Crimson Fists?

#hobbystreak day 926 I'm at a stopping point with the Crimson Fist Lieutenant. I tried a transfer from the armageddon box, but it went terribly. Took it off and now I wait for a microsol/set order. I've loved painting this guy, first time in ages I feel like I've really improved as a painter!

#hobbystreak day 925 What i hadn't known about NMM is how much it comes alive by painting the non metallic bits near it! There's not much left to do on the LT now, the chapter symbol and a few minor details, then the base!

#hobbystreak day 923 I've been painting my Guard for 6 months now. Time to give myself a break and paint some new colours. A nice simple space marine, just as a mental break. Oops, full-throttle NMM practice time! Definitely not mastered the art, but much improved from my last attempt at NMM

#hobbystreak day 920 (yesterday) Progress is slow on the Ogryn, it's another UK heatwave and it's definitely limiting my painting time. On the gaming side it's league time at my local club and I've started the season with a win vs a Space Wolf Terminator force.

#hobbystreak day 918 Thw autocannons are finished, so now my heavy weapon team can swap out their guns! I think the plan now is every new unit I paint, I also paint some magnetised weapons for old units, try and get to that 110% painted mark. So next up: ogryn and chimera heavy bolters!
