We voted no on Amendment 5 in August, saying no to one tax scheme. The legislature and governor are at it again. Amendment 7 would create a fund to invest in with hopes of one day being able to run the state on the profits. We don't know how this will be funded.

It's time for no excuse early voting! What's your voting plan? I am off work October 30 and will vote that afternoon before the Boo Bash in Union. Drop your voting plans and pics in the comments.

I'm a no because nobody was asking for redistricting Missouri until Washington DC reached out to state leaders. Despite about 99% of the testimony being in opposition to redistricting, lawmakers like current representative Brad Banderman voted for the map change. That's an off way to represent us.

It was a great night at the Franklin County Missouri Democrats annual Carnahan Dinner! Our keynote speaker was Jess Piper who never fails to get me fired up and ready to work. We also got to hear from 6 candidates who will be on Franklin County ballots this November. We are ready to flip some seats!

I know how important schools are to our state. I also know what it is to have tight budgets. If you are trying to stretch your dollars, don't fund non-public schools with vouchers. We need to fully fund our public schools if we want to encourage young families to stay in or move to Missouri.

We need to stop the insanity of voting on an issue and electing a person who won't support our vote so that the vote is undone. We have tried this for 20 years, and it gets frustrating.

I went to Jeff City to be a voice for those who couldn't make it today. Here's the scoop: 1. RMV had the petition reviewed and approved for circulation 2. It got over 367,000 3. Hoskins holds it for 3 MONTHS and says that the petition breaks a rule and won't be on the Nov ballot. ๐Ÿ˜ก

We followed the rules. Now Denny Hoskins won't do his job. We need to elect people who respect us and listen to our voices in November. We deserve better representation and we have the power to get it one election at a time. Until then, I hope you will join me in fighting to protect our voices.

I was 6 in 1976 and knew it was a big deal. The special quarters proved it. On the 250th birthday of the USA. I see flaws in our government. I am glad that we still have the power to correct these flaws and continue the work of creating the country that was dreamed of on that day 250 years ago.

I have been knocking doors for 3 weeks. At every door, I end by asking if the people have heard about the amendments on the August Ballot. I explain amendments 4 &5 and ask the voter to make sure to get out and vote in August. Please talk to people in your circles and ask them to do the same.

I wear orange for the start of the #WearOrange campaign dedicated to raising awareness about gun violence and honoring victims and survivors. Let me be clear, I do not want your guns. I want to live in a state that isn't in the top when ranking the number of gun deaths per year. Thompsonfor119.com

At the American Legion Post 297's Memorial Day Program, I was reminded not only of those who sacrificed for us, but to support those who came home with heavy baggage. Veteran suicides have dropped to 17 per day, but that is still too many. If you or someone you know is having a hard time, dial 988.

I am lucky to have PTO for this data center meeting at 9:00 am on a Monday. We are 7.5 hours in and not close to finished. I am proud of all the citizens who are showing up to be heard. It is clear we want answers before saying yes to any data center. Will the commissioners listen? Stay tuned.

Today was a big day for Respect MO Voters. Over 360,000 signatures were turned in to get this on the ballot. Voting yes will require ballot initiatives be presented in clear, unbiased language and that the lawmakers can't undo the will of the voters without taking issues back to the voters.

Thanks to unions, I was able to take some PTO time and join my neighbors to protest data centers. We are not getting answers to our questions, so I am now working to stop data centers from coming to Franklin County until and unless the voices of those against them are heard and respected.

I showed up to join my neighbors and show opposition to data centers in Franklin County. The amendment to county regulations passed. Diamond Farms rezoning passed. Crooked Creek rezoning was denied. The recommendations will now move to the county commissioners.

It was a busy weekend filled with great conversations. After prepping crockpot soup, I went on to encourage safe storage of firearms, attended Meet the Candidates, enjoyed some of the soup at my church, and on Sunday attended a potluck where I got to meet candidates for Presiding Commissioner.
