Been deleting this post over and over but I first want to mention I’m doing fine. Some days I just question my purpose in life and this whole game development thing. The latest AI stuff in the recent months have really drained me mentally and I go in periods where I stay off the internet.

And the state of the world and the time of year isn’t helping (it gets real dark in Sweden). But I sometimes pretend I’m not online anymore. Hang out with friends and try to do hobbies that don’t involve screens. I don’t know, just wanted to vent somewhere.

5 months vs 3 YEARS It's crazy to look back and see how much the game evolved over time and how much I learned! Thank you for all of the support throughout the years! 💜

PaperKlay is a part of the Birds of Play event over on Steam. I've been away half the week so haven't been able to shout from the rooftops. But this is the first daily deal feature I've been a part of. Very grateful for this! ☺️

Last night I went on a small nostalgia trip and rewatched the PaperKlay devlogs. I'm so grateful that this was documented. I saw a lot of early ideas that I've forgot and some that I didn't fully execute on but still did pretty good.

Thanks to this post here, PaperKlay had it's best weekend during this whole year. (Also posted on the other site which did good)

Some people have been asking where the Nintendo Switch version is! It's as done as it can be and just need to go through the last process-ish. Thanks for being patient! 💜

Thanks everyone who bought PaperKlay! It’s thanks to you that I can look at my own apartment now! ❤️ Very very grateful, been reading through Steam reviews as well 🥹

We at TwoPeaks are trying to make a fun Kart Racer where players can be a bit more creative and expressful. Here's an early blockout of a level I am currently working on.

We’re making some really cool stuff! Can’t wait to explain more how we’re trying some new things! 👀

Learning (or understanding) procedural animations was the goal for this holiday break. I'd say I've got a better grasp, there is some duct tape going on and I'm sure it can be better structured. But I'm happy where it's at right now. I guess next up is making the enemies more interesting.

I'm tempted to never put the game on sale again. Brings in a flood of negative reviews, one thing that everyone seems to think. The game is too easy... I'm very tempted to go over the entire game and make it more of a challenge.

The dumb joke is the blind pirate captain shouting "FULL SPEED AHEAD" when he's going backwards made me laugh way more than I should've when writing it.

How my game works: 🔸Explore the hub 🔸Help it's inhabitants 🔸Get rewarded with orbs 🔸Use orbs to enter linear levels Help this blind ghost pirate by releasing his ship so he can sail once more!

25% off on STEAM! With the winter sale that's going on now, I pushed a new update that fixes "the last" issues with the camera. Get it now and have an amazing holiday break!

🔴 There might be a new scam going around for indie devs 🔴 Normal Scam: Use almost identical email with correct links (using a capital i when it should be a lowercase L in the email) Now they might faked entire channels and bought followers (but google shows NO content at all)

The pink circle is where the "check for wall collision" starts and goes towards the camera. Moving that point up and down based on tilted collision above you greatly improved it ☺️

I haven't played games like this since I was a teenager, after PaperKlay I got more into just playing for fun. This year I've finished - Ratchet & Clank: Rifts Apart - Undertale - Planet of Lana - Cult of the Lamb - Guild Wars 2 Expansions - Astroneer Currently playing Eastward and Dishonored 2

On top of this I've "finished Mario Kart 8 and World", played countless of hours of Crash Team Racing and Disney Speedstorm. As well as Pokemon GO. Gears of War 3 and the "latest" remake of Gears 1 on Steam. Been really fun enjoying games and also soaking in new things I care more about now.

I think I'm romanticizing releasing games on phones. I get these short phases where I design some small game and then go "yeah that would've been fun to make". Like I know I enjoy making games more than releasing and selling them but for some reason I can't ever go for it.

Got my first negative review in a good while for PaperKlay. Also grateful that it still sells even outside of discounts! 🙏 If you've enjoyed PaperKlay but haven't left a review, please do! It helps! 😊

Reviews like this doesn't hurt my feelings, it's okay if someone feels it's too easy. The ones that hurt is "this is broken, you can fall through the environment" which was there at launch for some people.

After the release of PaperKlay, I've played A LOT more games. I'm genuinely playing games for fun in a way I haven't done in the past 14 years. Not for research purposes, I've even gone back to old games I said I would finish. In a sense it's scary since I'm not working on games as much.

Games I've finished this year so far: - Ratchet & Clank Rifts Apart - Guild Wars 2 main story + 3 expansions - Cult of the Lamb - Gears of War 3 And then a bunch of games that "don't have an ending". I think I've found the fun in gaming again

Coolest bit if I'm being honest

It's my birthday! 🎉 And I haven't shown my side project in a while! 🌊 Can now play a level with waves of enemies 🤖 Order turrets 📈 Upgrade system is more fleshed out Some abilities trigger contextually while others are manually triggered (in video you can place acid pools)
