‘The Lodger’ is ultimately one of the weaker episodes in a strong season of #DoctorWho 🏠 James Corden and Matt Smith bounce off each other well, and we see Matt’s clear delight in the football game ⚽️ “Now all I’ve got to do is pass as an ordinary human being. Simple. What could possibly go wrong?”

‘Vincent and the Doctor’ is one of the most iconic episodes of this era of #DoctorWho 🌻It has a deeply felt and remarkable guest-star performance from Tony Curran. Bill Nighy’ brief appearance is also unforgettable🌻One for the 📚 “The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things”

Autumn weather makes good evenings for curling up on the couch, and I do enjoy a period piece 🍂 ‘Remains of the Day’ is a quiet and delicately nuanced film where what isn’t said speaks volumes. A true masterclass in restrained acting. There is more here that the exquisite pain of unrequited love 💌

The next two-parter is ‘The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood’ Reintroducing the Silurians in a way that doesn’t rely on previous knowledge and doing what #DoctorWho does at a high level 🦎 Back when 2020 was the future, not the past “Excuse me! I am making perfect sense, you just aren’t keeping up’’

There is one more Rodgers & Hammerstein I want to mention: Cinderella. Originally written for the brand new medium of Television📺Be it Laura Osnes, when it debued on stage, Brandy in the color-blind 90's version or the originator Julie Andrews, this retelling of the farytale has a charm all its own🪄

Few actors have been as linked with a stage performance as Yul Brynner in The King and I as the King of Siam. 30+ years and more than 4000 performances and multiple awards etc, ect, ect.

'Amy's Choice' is more evidence of series 5 of #DoctorWho being strong. The contrasting settings is fun, everyone really sells the character drama and it's generally just a solid episode. Not forgetting Rory's first death 💀 ''There's something that doesn't make sense. Let's go poke it with a stick''

One of MY favorite episodes of #DoctorWho is ‘The Vampires of Venice’ A somewhat run-of-the-mill episode I have a particular fondness for 🐟 Rory’s first trip in the Tardis and he brings a new perspective on the Doctor “You have no idea how dangerous you make people to themselves when you’re around”

Sticking with Vonnegut for my next #Sci-Fi read. I didn't really enjoy 'Sirens of Titan'. It's definetly well written, but I found the characters unlikable and parts of the plot more confusing than intriguing. There's definetly a lot going on thematically, but I'm not sure I got a good handle on it📚

‘The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone’ is an important #DoctorWho two-parter for me as it introduced me to one of my absolute favorites, River Song. A few quibbles around Amy, and it’s not the Weeping Angles best. The cliffhanger is an all timer ”There’s one thing you never, ever put in a trap (…) Me”

Banned Books Week is here, so go forth and read some of what “they” don’t want you to. “They” are not the boss of you. Happy reading 📚📖📕📖📚📖📕📖📚📖📕📖📚

‘Victory of the Daleks’ is not the best #DoctorWho episode. Spitfires vs. spaceship and introducing the ‘new’ Dalek design distracts from the good stuff that is here. The WWII setting is interesting and the performances are good tho🇬🇧 ‘All right, it’s a Jammie Dodger, but I was promised tea’

The episode was my introduction to the Daleks and the episode doesn’t really introduce them… At least no where near as well as ‘Dalek’ with the 9th Doctor does

I may be a little late to the party, but if you enjoy period drama, I highly recommend ‘The Other Bennet Sister’ Focused on Mary Bennet it tells a wonderful new story with these familiar characters 🥰

The rewatch continues with ‘The Beast Below’ Honestly a pretty solid, decent #DoctorWho story with a good emotional core that goes to the heart of both the show and The Doctor and Amy as characters. ‘All that pain and misery, and loneliness, and it just made it kind’

I’m doing a #DoctorWho rewatch in honor of my 15th anniversary as a fan 🥳 Starting with the first episode I ever saw of Doctor Who ‘The Eleventh Hour’. To this day one of my favorite episodes of the show, and a wonderful introduction to the series. ‘’I’m the Doctor. Basically, run’’

Earlier this year I had fun choosing emojis to represent each episode of my podcast so far. Some are obvious, others I had to get more creative on. The first year of the Worldstage Theatre podcast in emoji form ☔️⛰️🌈❤️🚓🏙️🌊🇺🇸🏠💎🪵🎺👩🎩🎼🍺🧑‍⚖️🏰🏫🧸💃⛪️🦁📺👰‍♀️

Hi #BookSky Found this in my collection and reread it for the first time since I got it. Which was around the time the movie came out. There were more ‘spicy’ scenes than I remember 🎪 A well written book with a charming, if predictable, love story and capturing the circus atmosphere very well 🐘

As and an addendum to my list here are 6 more pieces of #StarTrek to enjoy🖖66 Prodigy : Watch ALL of it, both seasons DS9: Crossfire. Just 1 more TAS: Yesteryear. The best of TAS TNG: Cause and Effect. So close to making the list Starfleet Academy: Please give it a chance Picard s 3: Is pretty good

Happy Star Trek Day 🥳 60 Years of amazing space adventures, iconic characters and a vision of a better future. A future of collaboration, curiosity, empathy and equality 🖖

Filling in more gaps in my classic #SciFi reading with ‘Slaughterhouse 5’💥Reading a book dealing with the horrors of war from WWII, written during the Vietnam War, in the current moment. Absurdism, a few ‘written by a man of the era’ moments, but foremost a heartfelt plea for humanity to do better👁️👁️

60/60 ‘Those Old Scientists’ Finishing the list to celebrate 60 years of #StarTrek with an episode celebrating Trek in its diversity. Yes the crossover episode that brought live action and animation together, which is one of the must fun and delightful of them all ❤️ Here is to Trek and it’s legacy 🥂

59/60 'Demons/Terra Prime' What many people feel is a better finale to #StarTrek Enterprise than the actual finale. The relationship between Trip and T'Pol and the way it evolved to this point, Peter Weller's performance as ''the big bad'' and even the action elements to this story all come together

58/60 'Fissure Quest' Lower Decks returning Alfre Woodard and Jolene to #StarTrek and Garrett Wang having almost too much fun + our regulars. There is also Alexander Siddig, and in particular, Andrew Robinson getting the last laugh as these alt versions of Dr. Bashir and Garak. (Only sort-of part 1)

57/60 ‘It’s Only a Paper Moon’ The list nears the last few with latter day DS9 episode. Aron Eisenberg’s tour-de-force performance is the most obvious, but far from only reason, this is one the strongest episodes of #StarTrek 🖖 DS9 was able to give the majority of an episode to two ‘side-characters’

I remember the original Hunger Games trilogy coming out and being a big deal. With the new movie coming soon I finally got curious enough to check out the two prequels 🕊️🐍

If you are a Theatre Kid and haven’t seen ‘Tick,Tick…BOOM!’, please go check it out. It’s an excellent movie and so full of delicious theatre kid energy 🎭 Not just a love letter to Jonathan Larson’s legacy, but the Broadway community (and more) at large 🎶

56/60 ‘Tapestry’ Q decides to teach Picard and the audience a life lesson. A very human story wrapped in a #StarTrek package. In the midst of regrets about the past and uncertainty about the future we must all find a way to live in the now. And remember; the path may be winding, but it got you here🖖

55/60 ‘The Magnificent Ferengi’ DS9 has several good Ferengi episodes, and this is the one to make the list. Some excellent comedy, real stakes with the Dominion and the emotional core of Quark wanting to prove himself and the Ferengi as a people to the rest of the Alpha Quadrant ❤️ Keevan’s fate 🤌

Possibly the most ‘21th century’ musical out there is Six👸The pop centric music, the fashion, the inclusive casting and perspective shift on history well explored elsewhere👸All those things makes it very modern / of the moment👸Try comparing this to a show from the Golden Age of Broadway, the range
