Robert Munsch is a beloved #KidLit author in Canada. His memory is fading, will continue to fade. 😢 "Luckily, the residents of Guelph, Ont. remember everything." Uplifting, moving article in @theglobeandmail.com. Gift article link: www.theglobeandmail.com/gift/643477e...

I AM NOT BORING by Lena Podesta makes science fun (and not boring) when a log explains how it decomposes. I will definitely read again this when my grade 1 class studies living things. #kidlit #edusky 📚👍🏻

Heads up, Bookworms: There will likely be💀supply chain issues💀 this holiday season. So if there are specific books you have your heart set on for holiday gifting, I strongly suggest you buy/order them ahead of time (✨like now✨) rather than waiting until November/December.

Reminder to ATproto/Atmosphere app developers out there: I recently had yet another conversation with someone who has been curious about one of your apps but intimidated by all the tech jargon & lack of non-techie user documentation. PLEASEplease read my post: debbieohi.leaflet.pub/3mrpuaxmkw22i

These posts about hooks are so helpful! Thanks @juliefhedlund.bsky.social! #kidlit

A #picturebook theme hook grabs a reader based on the message of your story. The tricky part? That message has to be disguised in a kid-friendly way, where the MC drives the action & the reader discovers the "lesson" all on their own. Watch the video: youtu.be/Z1EVipRdRnY #amwriting #kidlit

As I dive into planning for the coming school year, I'm on the lookout for recent picture book recommendations for early primary. I'd love to hear about them! One place I'm checking out is is books.leaflet.pub , a new project by @debbieohi.com to help us all find more books! #kidlit #edusky

books.leaflet.pubHow Readers Find BooksGoal of this blog: (1) help readers find new ways to discover books, (2) help boost the book boosters, (3) boost books, (4) encourage more book people to join the ATmosphere.

Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.

THE LAST HOPE SCHOOL FOR MAGICAL DELINQUENTS by Nicki Pau Preto reminded me of Harry Potter in structure. I especially liked how the MC learned about herself, becoming more confident. Loved the friendships, collaboration, over the top magic gone wrong. #edusky #kidlit #librarysky #middlegrade 📚👍🏻

I really liked this nonfiction picture book DON’T CALL ME FiSH written by Charlotte Guillain and illustrated by Sally Agar. It IS confusing that so many creatures have fish in their names but aren’t actually fish. Great concept and fun facts. Will share with my Grade 1 students. 📚👍🏻 #kidlit #edusky

TURN THE TIDE by Elaine Dimopoulos — #MGlit in verse is about finding way to belong in a new place and being true to what’s important to you. A girl moves to an island and takes on the challenge of eliminating plastic bags, while trying to develop friendships.📚👍🏻 #kidlit #librarysky #schoollibrarian
