🚀 We’re hiring! Join our team at the Quantum Device Lab at ETH Zurich as a Cleanroom Fabrication Engineer (100%, Zurich, fixed-term). Help us scale superconducting quantum processor chips incorporating 100+ qubits for fault-tolerant quantum computing! 🧵👇

What you’ll do: • Develop micro/nanofab processes (DRIE TSVs, thin films) • Boost chip yield & qubit coherence • Work across top cleanrooms: FIRST (ETH), BRNC (IBM), & PICO (PSI) Profile: MSc/PhD in nanofab, physics, EE, or materials + hands-on cleanroom background.

That is exciting. I got to know Pieter-Jan Derks at the IBM QEC summer school in Tarrytown some years ago. That school produced a lot of great researchers in QEC. Good luck with the startup. Maybe we can run some of your tools on our QEC hardware.

Today, Walrus Computing is coming out of stealth. We’re on a mission to turn fault-tolerant quantum computers into engines of discovery. We build the software layer that makes them useful to anyone with a question worth asking.

Looking forward to be attending the Superconducting Qubits & Algorithms (SQA) 2026 conference in Gothenburg, Sweden from August 25 to 28. I will be giving an invited keynote talk on the opening evening and present new work on #quantum error correction from our lab.

I am optimistic that #Switzerland will win against #Finland tonight at the @iihf.bsky.social #Hockey World Championship in #Zurich. If anything, it will be almost impossible to win against this crazy crowd of 10 thousand #Switzerland supporters in the very nice SwissLife Arena.

Also because of them Swiss Hockey has not lost a single game in this tournament! Check out the video below and use any footage for yourself, if you like! Hopp Schwiiz! I am keeping my fingers crossed for the first win of the team #Switzerland at an IIHF Hockey World Championship. Go and win this!

Do you wonder how you can execute a #quantum algorithm on a quantum server in a way that the operator of the server does know neither the task nor the result? Here we conceptually demonstrate blind quantum computing using two modules on a modular 3D integrated #superconducting #circuit. (1/5)

One of the aspects for the whole team to be proud of is the many successes of our current and former lab members. On the occasion of our lab's 20th anniversary, I give a shout out to former lab members who have moved on to graduate school, who now do postdocs, ...
