A sad side effects of prompting seems to be a even stronger preference of devs to make their own little tools rather than collaborate. It can be the right choice. But it also feels like a waste as people are re-discovering the same bugs and need for features over and over in their claude silos.

Then: "I would have written a shorter letter, but did not have the time." Now: "I would have written a shorter commit message, but I did not have the tokens."

The GHC devs 5 stages of grief: * hadrian/build --freeze1 * rm .hie-bios * hadrian/build * rm _build/stage1 -rf && hadrian/build * rm _build && hadrian/build * Restart from a clean repo clone

I know everyone is shitting on GH for recent enshittification now. But I've always been annoyed by the need to select https/ssh/cli before you can copy the repo url. As someone who swaps a lot between ssh and https based clones this is so annoying.

I had forgotten about the crazy hardware prices. Then I found an old DDR4 ram stick today. 16GB. Think how much could that even still be worth. Seems used price is still ~50-80€. Guess I actually have to sell that thing.

Me everytime I invalidate my Cabal cache: "Should binary haskell package caches for Cabal be a thing?" Also me 5-10 Minutes later when stockholm syndrome sets in: "Eh recompiling didn't take *that* long."

Bug reports in 2027 will be like: I've yelled at my computer. It started to mine bitcoin and deleting my files. How can I convince it to stop deleting the files.

Have to get up at 15 minutes earlier for an appointment. Wake up in panic at 4am, 4:30am, 5am, 5:30 am for fear of being too late and having overslept. Just give up and get up at 5:30 am. Day ruined.

I saw an add where someone added their dog into a picture with AI. Somehow all I could think of was someone saying "My dog has always been in this picture." But spoken with 1984 vibes. Will people frame fake pictures at home until and convince themselves those are real memories? I guess so.

I think it's some overflow in the USB driver on the printers side. It works fine for a day or so. But eventually USB on the printer just stops working until I reset it's power. "But why the power cable?" The printer actually doesn't have any way to reboot it without cutting it's power ...

I found myself debugging a Perl script today. And I realized Perl basically isn't a thing anymore. It used to be inescapable when I started to get into "computers".
