Sounds about right 😂

The evolution of "vibe coding production software as a non-dev" the last few months Success stories do exist... ones I see all come from people who are/were software engineers Learning to code / build software not a waste after all?

Laravel friends: anybody know of good testing setups to hunt for scalability issues before they crop up for real users? I'm less concerned with stress-testing (concurrent requests) than I am with issues caused by large database volume (both mysql data and redis cache).

On the test, Windsurf seemed to do a bit better. Cursor and Claude were both more verbose and needed a bit more guidance to prevent extra changes. Agent mode is really cool, running and modifying tests on its own.

As a code editor, Windsurf initially felt a bit more polished than Cursor, partly due to my muscle memory using keyboard shortcuts. Once I found and changed the keyboard chord leader key, Cursor was a lot more usable for me. They seem to be pretty equivalent feature-wise.

GPaste (github.com/Keruspe/GPaste) is a serviceable clipboard history manager. I added a custom keyboard shortcut (Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > Custom Shortcuts) to bring up the UI. I just wish it would automatically paste to the current app when I select an entry. 🤷‍♂️

The biggest thing currently tripping me up: I use keyboard shortcuts *all the time.* On macOS, (almost) everything is ⌘-tab, ⌘-C, ⌘-V, etc. On Ubuntu: - many things are ctrl-C, ctrl-H, etc. and are pretty similar - some things are alt-tab, etc. - some things are super-H, etc.

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer app.thestorygraph.com/books/d4ea68... I listened to the audiobook; at some point I want to go back and read and highlight passages from this book. There are so many things to think about especially in the age of AI about how to take care of each other.

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson: app.thestorygraph.com/books/26206f... The title grabbed me, and the book didn’t disappoint…the author lays out the rules for mystery writers and breaks the fourth wall so many times. The book kept surprising me in the best ways.
