Blimey - Lisa Nandy handing Jon Kay one on BBC Breakfast. Didn't expect it, here for it. The fact the BBC is giving so much air time to the NIMBYs in Oxfordshire is bizzare.

I've just reconnected with the lyrics of Is it like today' World Party. And I don't mind admitting that I burst into tears walking home from the shops.

I have a new conspiracy theory! ๐Ÿ‘‡ Microsoft is actively making things harder in Office tp force co-pilot use. EG: changing the orientation of 1 page in a doc. I KNEW how to do this, 30 years exp. Could I do it this week? No Did I nearly lose my shit? Yes Did I have to resort to co-pilot? Also yes.

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, [...] And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right. www.tomshardware.com/tech-industr...

I'm looking for an explanation of what 'merging' the US and Israeli military actually means, but not finding a simple explainer or reasoning. Is it just the ongoing campaign? Does it mean central command? Who is the CIC in any case?

Even as a Manc I get the annoyance at 'No10 in the North' = MCR. But I do think there's a bit of logic behind it. 1. The civil service hub in MCR is already underway, the Cab Office has a presence so it won't be hard to have a No10 office as well.

I do understand that MCR no longer represents The North, even in England and Newcastle, Sheffield or even Leeds would be a better rep, and there's no mention of the SW, too often overlooked. But I can see that the work is pretty much 70-80% of the way there, 'low hanging fruit'.

Footnote: Also, as always, I am bidding for the Peoples Republic of Mancunia. Not to be confused with The Republik of Mancunia, that's football. <insert Month Python ref>

2. Recruitment is already quite focused on cities outside of London, plus there's a lot of WFH, so folks in the No10 Office won't need to relocate. 3. MAN is a huge airport, much bigger than other regionals - I hate that this is a consideration, but it is. (chunnel extension to The North please?)

This is obscene. 1. It's not happened yet. 2. We don't have 'first' families in the UK. Proof in my eyes that the right wing media, The Daily Heil especially, is behind the media hounding of SKS and the hand selection of Burnham. This should be a red flag.

The affect on my air quality inside a house over 20 miles away from the moorland fire. Thick smoke across Greater Manchester as it's peat land moors. Going to assume morons with BBQs again.

This is what was important right now. We'll be further away from Europe and closer to the US/Israel by the end of the year.

It can take many leaders years to grow into the statesman you became in just two years. European and Ukrainian security is stronger because of you. Thank you, dear Keir.

Just booked a weekend trip to the Cotswolds - to a really swanky cottage*. But now I'm having serious class based anxiety about it, afraid to go to an area of posh, rich, white, right wing folks. It's so strong that I'd cancel if I could. How ridiculous? *swayed by an Eames chair...

Finally started listening to #TheMidnightLibrary @matthaig.bsky.social I put off reading/listening because the subject was too close to my life when it was published. There's a line : 'the only thing stopping me crying is Sertraline' - no line has ever got me so much.. I would have cried, but...

Life in the ADHD lane means: Either 1. wake up, lie in a state of deep procrastination/existential crisis for hours OR 2. wake up, fly out of bed, feed the cats, clean the kitchen, put a wash on, fold yesterdays load, hang the wet laundry... all in under an hour. Today I'm option 2.

The best and worst 'superpower' of ADHD is being able to observe tiny nuances when interacting with other people. Teeny, tiny changes in tone of voice, eye movements, jaw alignment, speed of response and many others are all like massive neon signs to my ADHD brain. I know when things have changed.

I've spent YEARS hearing 'oh, turns out you were right about [insert]' months or years after the fact, and after I've been black marked for expressing said observation and labelled a trouble maker or the problem.

I'm thankful that the ADHD diagnosis allowed me to understand. I'm sad for my 20/30/40s self who's lived and still lives with the consequences of that. I'm desperately sad that I may never fit in.

The waves of anxiety when you know things have changed, the constant anticipation of the conclusion of the change, which usually isn't good. The not really know if you are right or not. I'm only just at the beginning of learning how to handle things, to keep observations to myself and to 'mask'.
