Artober Day 1 complete! 😀 This was my creation for “Bloom”. I’m really happy with how it came out. Hope you all like it! Looking forward to seeing your creations too! #artoberwithkalila #artober2026 #drawingchallenge #bloom #creaturedesign

I want to do one of the “9 games that shaped me post” and I’d definitely love to talk to others about ones we share or why I like one but I’m very scared someone is just going to look at it and just go “Oh.” to themselves

THIS THIS THIS! All forms of design are an amazing art that goes invisible to most people, especially gameplay design! It’s the central element of a game and its design can influence so much on how a player is supposed to feel and how they experience something!

it actually annoys us how often "games as art" focuses entirely on story and not things the design and gameplay itself is doing. Not to say plot can't be an important part of the puzzle, but we think other parts get underappreciated as part of the overall recipe

Best example I can think off the top of my head is something like Getting Over It where the simple but extremely frustrating gameplay of a dumb mechanic is what makes it such a great piece of art! It doesn’t need a story to make you feel the way you do, it’s baked into the gameplay design!

Regarding the exclusivity, instead of being for the whole month it'll just be for 2 weeks so that it'll have some time to be on Itch as well! But y'know, you're cooler if you play it on Newgrounds
