I love that we call all the posts we see on the internet our feed. Like, this is my trough where they put the slurry. It’s mostly discarded organ meat, but sometimes I get a bite of that sweet sweet nutrient paste

A vision of the future that focuses on flashy tech like flying cars rather than universally beneficial programs like expanded bus routes feels sad and hollow

Also, we already have flying cars. They’re called helicopters, and there are so many reasons why we don’t all fly to the grocery store in them!!!!!

Just called my representative to tell her to support this bill.

Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.

Saw your man at the grocery store putting green bell peppers and orange bell peppers in the same bag.

saw your man at the grocery store and he was struggling to effectively use his rewards points

Meme from 1943 from my dad’s collection of family memorabilia. This postcard was sent to my dad’s uncle. I love that it’s addressed simply to Thor Larson, Sandpoint Idaho, and it got where it was meant to go.

Two pictures of my grandparents, taken roughly 40 years apart. I love how they still stood the same way, still held hands, still had those sweet smiles.

My favorite thing about the island is that when you order a pizza, once you’ve finished, you’ve got this big cardboard hunk

I wonder if Fox has figured out the Trump is a liability to himself and are pulling back from covering his words live

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

notable -- even Fox News isn't covering the Trump/Xi speeches, presumably because they are part of the press boycott

Just finished my yearly self review. I can write all sorts of lofty goals for my employer, but my true goal is to manage all my wires and cables so that my desk isn’t a mess.

Outlook just marked an email from Outlook as spam. Maybe the computers do have self awareness, and they realize how much they suck.

The year is 2030. My job is to sit cramped inside a triumphal arch that is situated in the middle of a traffic circle and point a sniper rifle at cars

On purpose: In 7th grade I used to eat uncooked egg noodles with sugar and olive oil on them after school. By accident: I once was eating a popsicle at soccer halftime and something weird and scratchy was in my throat. I hacked it up. It was an ant. Must’ve gotten stuck the the popsicle.

HEY PALS UNSETTLING PROMPT TIME what's the weirdest thing you ate as a kid?

Love how he just announces shit like “we’re gonna have top secret snipers at this very specific location.” Like, okay, I’m sure it’s a great idea to let everyone know that. That certainly won’t lead to any obvious consequences.

When I was taking birthing classes this one guy said to his wife “maybe you should get a doula” and she said “I don’t want one. I just want you.” And he said “what if I can’t be there?” And she said “why wouldn’t you be there?” And he said “what if you go into labor during the superbowl?”

Today’s discourse is “are rocks conscious?” Hell yeah, that’s the kind of how-many-angels-can-dance-on-a-pin type conversation I love. You argue something m ridiculous just for fun and wind up having to either admit you’re full of shit or give up eating salt.

My hot take: rocks are conscious, and the only thing that brings them joy is getting thrown at windows. Smash a rock through a window today to make our stone brethren happy.

I’m trying to find info about when the updated 2026-2027 covid vaccine for children under 12 will be available, and I can’t find any info. Does anyone here know?

I used to know exactly one thing about Hassan Piker, namely, that he’s not an elected official or company executive and he has no material power over my life. Now I know a second thing: he’s handsome.

I have created a new product I call the garbage grinder. You feed it things you love and it grinds them up and spits out garbage. How will I sell it, you may ask. Well, get this…. It’s greatest selling point is that it will eventually kill and replace all humans

Wow. Someone just invested 60 billion dollars into my garage grinder startup. I will now crumple up a tin can and chuck it at their forehead as a prototype.

I know the whole “boys in girls’ sports” thing is part of a movement to push trans people out of public life. The thing is, I don’t understand the premise. Like, who care if boys and girls play sports together? My daughter did a coed basketball camp this summer, and it was great.

I lettered in badminton in high school (I know I am so cool), and the team was coed. Cheerleading is coed. Like, why is the idea that it’s problematic for boys and girls to play sports together even a thing?

Billionaire: we have invented a robot that will hug your kids for you. Child of billionaire: maybe if I give him more of my blood he’ll finally love me
