Here is some Yaxel Lendeborg postgame On the backlash to Luka comments: “I’m not afraid to talk to nobody. He’s not Michael Jordan.” He did admit: “I feel like I did kinda take it overboard in the media, but it is what it is.” He’s playing tomorrow: “I don’t expect them to sit a rookie.”

Brandin Podziemski said he will not play tomorrow in Phoenix. So it sounds like the already depleted Warriors will also be without Steph Curry and Podziemski against the Suns. He missed the opener with a tweaked back.

Steph Curry said he "probably" won't play tomorrow in Phoenix in the Warriors' first back-to-back of the season. Plans to talk to training staff, but clear they are easing him into the season.

Left ankle twist for Yaxel Lendeborg on that third quarter drive. In some pain, walked it off, shot the free throws. Warriors then fouled to get him out and he went to the locker room. Wasn't limping. His stat line tonight: 17 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts, 2 stls.

Kristaps Porzingis did make it into the Warriors practice facility this afternoon and met with Rick Celebrini and Mike Dunleavy. Nothing more detailed about return timetable, but a first step.

Kings center Dylan Cardwell is out at least two weeks with a left calf strain. Frontcourt depth will be thin in Sacramento to open the regular season after Maxime Raynaud's recent knee injury.

Steve Kerr said Steph Curry will still only play the first half tonight: “We are ramping him up slower than normal.” It’s about late career body/knee maintenance. Will lighten practice work this season to strike balance: “Not overloading Steph and letting him find his rhythm.”

The Warriors’ veterans will play tonight against the Lakers but be limited to around 20 minutes. Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Al Horford will not travel to Portland for the back-to-back tomorrow. A few others may skip the trip also, per Kerr.

Additional note to this Warriors-Lakers injury report ahead of tonight’s game: Kristaps Porzingis’ health absence and timetable remains indefinite as the Warriors open their second week of preseason, I’m told

Luka Doncic, looking lighter, scored an easy 21 points in 16 first half preseason minutes in Sacramento tonight. JJ Redick: "The guy worked his butt off all summer and actually ran this summer. He actually did like sprints and stuff. Came into camp in fantastic shape."

Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Al Horford will only play the first half tomorrow in the Warriors’ preseason opener vs Clippers in Hawaii. Around 12-16 minutes. Sounds like some of the veterans will skip the game in Portland on Wednesday following Tuesday home game.

The Warriors will start Steph Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Yaxel Lendeborg, Draymond Green and Al Horford in the preseason opener on Sunday against the Clippers. Here is Steve Kerr on what he likes about that five-man group

Brandin Podziemski was the standout offensive player during the open portion of GSW scrimmage yesterday. Aggressive, finished through contact, hit a few jumpers. Steve Kerr: “Three days in, he’s had a great camp.”

Steph Curry: "Knee's feeling great. Ready to go. No issues." He acknowledged there is a "management element" to it, but there are no limitations. "I feel a lot stronger and understanding of what I'm dealing with."

Kristaps Porzingis is out indefinitely to open training camp with a health issue, per Warriors. Another immediate blow to their depth. Dunleavy on Porzingis: "I'm not marking him down as being out to start the season or anything like that. He's just not available this week."

Steph Curry tells ESPN his unsettled extension will have no impact on his play or the team's vibe: "No drama. No talking points. This team should be competitive and go win." If he waits, it's about future flexibility: "Information and patience is key."

espn.comWarriors' Stephen Curry says 'no drama' over unsettled contractWarriors star Stephen Curry said his unsettled contract extension situation will have zero impact on his play or the team's vibe entering the season.

Steph Curry called it “premature” to discuss LeBron James to the Warriors but acknowledged the “allure” of it: “Him going into his 24th season, me into my 18th, the battles we’ve had, that would be such a unique story in NBA history, in sports history.”
