I just don't get the Australian Fuel Excise Tax, we are told it is to ensure fuel cost party, why then do we pay twice what the US consumer pays. Surely the extra cost of getting the Fuel to Australia equalises it anyway.

Why oh why can't the Australian Government, legislate to prevent international owners of Australian food companies from using inferior products because they are cheaper. Things like Ice Cream and biscuits using health and enviromental damaging Palm Oil.

The thing I can't get my head around in America, is how can you let 1/3 of the country decide your future, I believe that instead of having a "right to vote" attitude, you should have "it's my Duty to Vote" mentality, this seems to me a reason to make it compulsory for every citizen to vote.
