Worked Capital Markets trading desks for 25 years. Ran a small company and now teach accounting in college. Just trying to make sense of it all. Can’t we all just get along? Does it seem like we are in the “bread and circus” phase of the Roman Empire?

“I need a new ballroom” “No” “Fine. I tore down the East Wing. Now I have to build a ballroom”. “Still no” “Fine. There was an “assassination” attempt, so for security reasons I need a ballroom”. “Still no and it’s getting tiresome.”

The quicker the world accepts the fact that Trump is Krasnov and is willingly burning it all to the ground at the behest of his GRU handler - Putin - the better. The US can not be trusted. It breaks my heart to say it. Maybe the US survives, but the world is for ever changed and not for the better.

Be honest now, who wants to see a journalist whip out a cat laser pointer at the next press conference and have Trump scurry across the floor of the Oval Office trying to catch the dot? The drooling imbecile is one bad hamburger from sitting on a park bench screaming at clouds and shrubs.

In a stunning display of hubris and the complete inability to read the room, the US completes the first round of talks with Russia - but Ukraine was not in attendance? Besides the grandstanding and the attempt to be first in line to belly-up to the mineral trough, what the hell is the Us doing?

The Tangerine Twatwaffle is about to make US cars completely unaffordable. His plan is to stack the Canadian Steel and Aluminum tariffs on top of the previously announced ones - making them 50%. The US doesn’t have anywhere near the domestic capacity to meet their demand apple.news/AfERwu9kbQo2...

This is Hans Island. It lies between Greenland and Canada in the Franklin Channel. The Island is split between Canada and Denmark. That shared border means Canada could legally apply to join the EU. We don’t want to abandon the US, but we may not have a choice.

Tariffs need explaining: The US levies a 25% tariff on Canadian imports. The importer in the US pays that 25% to the US Treasury. The importer then recoups the 25% tariff by hiking prices to consumers. The 10% energy tariff will hit all electricity in the East and all oil and gas. Good luck.

There’s an admittedly large part of me that wants to just let here idiots run riot. I’m not sure how much can be saved now anyway. No empire reverses the death spiral once it starts. The morons are about to see what they voted for. The problem is: apres la deluge, c’est quoi? What will be left?

What happened to the truth? When did facts stop mattering. We can argue about the influence of those facts. We can debate how those facts will alter public opinion, but we still have to agree that the facts are indeed facts. Water freezes: fact. Lies are not just obfuscation: fact.

@cnn you report on the water bombers in LA. Any reason you don’t point out that they are Canadian bombers? Yes. We love you. We are your friends and neighbours. We realize the Tangerine Mousolini doesn’t represent you all, but a nod would be nice.

America’s 10 largest health insurance companies made a profit of $70bn last year. Profit. $70bn. Look no further for the reason for expensive & crappy health care. With public healthcare, that money could be plowed into actual healthcare, rather than profits. www.investopedia.com/articles/act...

Trump using tariffs to try to stem the flow of drugs into the US is a pretty standard take from an addict. “My addiction is an affliction, you need to stop supplying me”. Perhaps if the US actually did something to temper their insane demand for opioids, the demand may flag as does the supply.

Good god Canada…you do not, I repeat…DO NOT want anything even close to the US healthcare system that kills millions every year and sucks dry the living

Just a thought: The Trump Admin is going to put a 25% tariff on Canada, in part because of border security - drugs and immigrants. Most of the guns used in crimes in Canada are smuggled from America. Most of the drugs in Canada come Across the US border. Maybe deal with your own crazy first.

Well, yay Canada. I was starting to feel left out of the insanity.
