Really starting to get into Belmont’s Curse. Wasn’t sure about the look at first, and it definitely feels/controls differently than Igavania games, but it's really cool and getting it's "keep filling this map in" hooks into me in a big way.

I was particularly stunned yesterday when I got to the Paris cemetery section. I visited Paris for the first time last year and the cemetery we walked was my personal highlight. This game captures so much of that atmosphere in such a gorgeous way.

Currently watching The Lost Boys for the 4,000th time and this movie + Echo and the Bunnymen are probably the only thing in the world that could make me enjoy (almost) listening to The Doors.

I would like a new Mario too, but announced in a fall Direct when there’s no room on this year’s schedule was never going to happen. Best case, and most likely scenario, is announced in June and releases next holiday.

Spent a few days in Boston this week and what a great town. Highlights include: - going to a game at Fenway - day trip to Salem - beautiful architecture all over - singing/listening to “Mass Pike” while driving on the Mass Pike - obnoxiously quoting Good Will Hunting all week long

We’ve had Zelda fever around my house this summer. Elliott has played Ocarina, Majora’s Mask, and now Wind Waker since school let out. I’m playing Ocarina on the MiSTer, often one room over from him, so the soundtracks kind of mix and it feels like Link HQ or something.

I am pro-physical media and I think it sucks that the next Playstation won't use discs. I've also never pirated modern games and never would. That being said, preservation doesn't really = people owning discs. It's preserving digital backups that can be downloaded in perpetuity in the future.

Sucks for games, obviously, but as someone who buys a lot of 4K blu rays, also a bummer that this is definitely the last gen where being a movie player will be a perk when investing a ton of money into a console.

Genius analysis. Transformation in a selfish, greedy, violent direction is really just the same thing as transformation in a selfless, egalitarian, peaceful direction. The important thing is just to make sure nothing ever really changes, I guess?

We are witnessing MAGA equivalent of destruction of Democratic Party through election of progressive Socialists. If you think this ends well for country, I believe you're sadly mistaken. Extremism on one side simply fuels opposite growth on other side. We need moderates.

I finished Mixtape last week and I really loved it. I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone, but I actually ended up really liking all of the characters, *especially and including* Stacey Rockford.

I played it over a handful of sessions though and I think that was the right call. Experience something with the characters and then check back in with them the next day or whatever. It was nice.

But my 12 year old was with me and he’s been bugging me to take him to The Amazing Digital Circus, so we went to the Classic Cinemas on the square instead. That theater was so cool and they had so much great Woodstock-centric film history on display.
