THIS. People use Gen "Ai" to skip the process, but art is about the process. Being a human is about the process. It's like deciding to have a baby and then skipping the 18 years of nurturing, playing, and getting to know this child, just fast forward to their adult self as if that was the only goal.

But, much like we've seen with anyone else who's fallen down the "AI Art" slophole, He doesn't want to make art, but to *have made* art. To wave his hand and have all the prestige that comes with making a thing, JUST LIKE he thought the Blue Check *gave* legitimacy, instead of recognizing it.

In the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve, an editor had to recommend that Reeve wear a cup because the tights allowed one to see which side he was hanging down. 😄

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Max isn't a rookie. Anyone signing him knew what they were getting. Am I saying that this was a setup where someone thought they could get "ex-AEW wrestler is out of line" headlines eventually and he did it on the first night? No... but also doesn't that sound like something the Fed would pull?

The dog means trouble for Lois Lane because it's Ms. Lion. You think Peter went to ludicrous lengths and gave up too much for Aunt May? Wait until you read "SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW STRAY"

I have sincere doubts that Paladin was "the super-soldier-of-fortune sensation" of the decade, let alone the century. But at the same time I can't keep track of all the super-soldiers that Marvel has pumped out, so he probably slides by on a technicality.

I wonder who the article of this author thinks the Jack Reacher books are for.

Phillip Maciak@pjmaciak.bsky.social

"If more books were published by men with explicitly masculine themes, would there actually be a wider male readership?" This is very much in the Platnerian mode that presumes all men are only attracted to content by, for, and possibly about Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor. jacobin.com/2026/10/lone...

"article of this author" Oh dear lord. Gotta be honest, even if I had an edit button I wouldn't use it here. That typo is going to remain and be a warning (I don't know what yet, I'll get there).

If AI media can't be copyrighted, then pirating the game can't be illegal. I suspect Disney is keeping a close eye on this to see how it goes. If good, they'll probably start mucking with copyright laws again. If bad, they can just walk away from this game/studio.

Did you ever think about how if Akira was a American comic/movie it would be named Mike

Currently at the bathroom at NYCC having the worst shit of my life and someone outside of my stall says "Erica Henderson is here" and it takes me a few seconds to realize they mean the con and not the toilet

Um, point of order, enough two-income families becoming one-income would definitionally be large-scale job losses. That's assuming what he says has any merit, which it doesn't. Dude won't even let his employees take piss breaks, he sure as hell isn't going to raise wages while AI is taking over.

They think we’re all idiots As Jon Stewart says — if the goal is guaranteed income and jobs, why wait? Why is it only “socialism” if we don’t hand them trillions of dollars first?

This is the match that made me a Mystery fan. I think it was even the first match I watched. I had no idea what was going on, but I knew I loved every second. 😄
