This is the best article I've ever read describing the LC experience. It was helpful when I needed my family to understand what I was experiencingand couldnt find the words

ME/CFS is widely misunderstood, and those misconceptions can have real consequences for people living with the disease. Swipe through as we separate some of the most common myths about ME/CFS from the facts. ➡️ #MEAwarenessHour #MECFS

JUST IN: The police shooting that killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley as he sat in his mother’s lap in a Walmart parking lot in Senatobia, Miss., in June “was justified,” Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office said on Monday. Her office will not charge the white officer who shot the child.

Gratitude to Beth for telling her story with such grace. She speaks for me. I, too, am mostly confined to bed and housebound. I left my house 3 times this summer. Haven't been out at all in September or October. This is no way to live. #frailandfurious #MECFS www.bbc.com/sport/athlet...

bbc.comBeth Dobbin: British Olympic sprinter in bed for 22 hours a day after ME diagnosisBeth Dobbin ran for Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Five years on, she is largely bedbound after being diagnosed with ME, a devastating illness for which there is no cure.

Her illness started with Covid, and despite her incredible, international-competition level fitness at the time. I don’t know who exactly would have to get this for healthy people to understand that when they get Covid, which they will continue to get, they are spinning a chamber and firing the gun.

Olympic sprinter Beth Dobbin advocates brilliantly in this article: 🔹strongly rejects CFS label 🔹states there is no specialist NHS service 🔹conveys the severity of the disease 🔹raises the issue of how athletes are more 'believed' www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athlet...

The impulse to deify anything that makes you high — wine, weed, caffeine, peyote, etc. — the concept of god changes significantly when this impulse is suppressed and wine is just something Noah invented to deal with it all and God is something entirely indifferent to the experience of being drunk

Still true.

College football playoff: the on-campus environment is great. But the obvious problem with a 12-team field has always been that in any given year there aren’t 12 good teams. I’m ok with expanding to 6 or 8 — not 12.

Why do people with ME claim to know more about the medical aspects of their disease than their doctors? Because the mechanisms that usually ensure doctors' knowledge fail in the case of ME, and sick people have created mechanisms of knowledge production and dissemination to pick up the slack.

Ok, as a recovering philosophically inclined theologian, I have this bad habit of speaking like this: why *we* must create, generalizing, when what I should say is why *I* must create. My little poem arose when I was wondering if a person without a headache sees the same backyard I was looking at.

^^ Lines that came while thinking about why we must create

If a society is going to execute people I think it’s a moral obligation that it be available for public viewing and that all school children be required to view it.

Ohio Dems should lean in to the caricature of Dr Amy Acton as a total drunk ass druggie, as painted in Repub attack ads. Run campaign event ads like “Get High with Dr Acton” Or “Smoke a J with Dr A” or “Chug a six pack-ton with Amy Acton” or “She’s a Doctor, duh. She can write you prescriptions.”

Yes, truly this type of reasoning is undeserving of any response. But I will mention that it omits that school transmission has caused who knows how many cases of Long Covid, taking people out of schools, jobs, etc. (Guess how I know).

lmao this is such a sick way to conclude that COVID school closures were a mistake www.kuow.org/education/20...

I’m thinking about how nothing in nature repeats or returns, but language can be indefinitely repeated, copied, fixed, and grow threadbare, comfortable, but also unreal, illusory, isolated in its own realm, and soporific.
