Just a random game industry programmer/designer learning to do pixel art things to someday make an indie game that doesn't use AI gunk

Small goblin girl without any reference, came out better than I thought considering but still a long way to go. #pixelart

Finished Skies of Arcadia the other day and tried to draw Aika from it but...I'm not really happy with how flat she came out #pixelart

Slacked a bit the last few days so heres a random dude. I noticed with this one that I'm never sure how to convey depth and form #pixelart

Today I tried to practice doing both a more actiony pose and different sprite sizes to try and understand proportions better #pixelart

I still need to figure out whats best for doing something that would be in a game but for now shading, poses, and drawing from reference is the goal

I've been unable to sleep til super late this year, which has resulted in a friend of mine streaming wrestling and introducing me to the best, dumbest thing I've seen in awhile. Trying to do El Grande Americano has taught me the hard way about _too_ much detail in sprites...

Tried one of Kanami instead but I think parts have come out odd because I'm misreading the more detailed outline I end up using when not using a hard border.

I have a figure of Sill Plain knocking about so I thought I'd use that pose and try replace her outfit with the last one she has but...it's not very clear. Shading is hard when you're not sure how to do it AND use light colours 😬

I recently finished watching Buffy and Angel for the first time. Spikes design always stood out to me, and while he's mostly unlikeable for the show he grew on me in the final season

I guess I should write a intro of sorts to say hi to anyone who stumbles on this. I'm Ariasea, I'm a programmer in the games industry who wanted to learn how to draw pixel art and needed a place to track it as I pick it up. Please feel free to say hi or the like!

You are up to date.
