Thanks for the interview - that was fun to talk about Drobe to El Reg. Archive is the mag you need if you're using RISC OS. It's interesting that this AI era is resulting in a noticeable uptick in development output in the post-Acorn community. Agents can have a big impact in niches

Floopy has now been copied onto the RPi400s I use for #RISC_OS shows. I did so via a Soft Rock Software Collection USB stick, and left it on there in a folder called 'Bonus'. Externally, it's unmarked - so one random (un?)lucky customer could have a bonus item if they buy the Collection on USB.

Optical media is failing. I have seen pressed CDs and DVDs that have started to 'rot' and fail. Make sure you transfer the data to a safe place as it could be gone in the near future. Especially recordable media that you have used for backups. www.headphonesty.com/2026/10/libr...

We need shelf space. FAST Stealth needs shelf space. This is bad news for the computers currently occupying the shelf. So: CLEARANCE SALE at the RISC OS London Show. Complete RISC OS machines from £99. Our ruthless approach to inventory management could be your gain. #risc_os

The Pace Nightingale modem for the BBC Micro enabled BBC Micro users to log-in to Bulletin Boards back in the 1980s. They were a great place to go to share knowledge, meet like-minded people and to obtain dodgy software! It was a taste of what was to come:- email, online shopping and the internet!

A short video I made in the 'classroom' at the Northwest Computer Museum. Those of you who were at a UK school in the 1980s will probably remember the BBC Micros and CUB Monitors. The PCs running DOOM will bring back memories too - the legendary first-person shooter ( FPS ) from 1993.

You know these from encyclopedias, edutainment CD-ROMs, and Dorling Kindersley books. Then I remembered Acorn Computers having manuals like this, which fits given its focus on UK schools in the 1980s and 1990s following the BBC Micro program. Contrasts the utilitarian PC manuals for businesses.
