This meaning of "Cerises" thereby changed from literal to metaphorical, from springtime's deep-flavored fruit to the bright red eruptions on the white shirts of the Communards as they were shot down at their barricades by the government's troops.

Song was dedicated to a young nurse, Louise, who was killed assisting wounded revolutionaries at the barricades. The bright red cherries eventually became a stark, poetic symbol for the blood spilled and the "open wound" stanza came to represent the trauma of political repression.

The words were written in anticipation of a future utopia that was to come. However a few years later and after the 1871 Paris Commune sprang to life, it was violently put down during the Semaine Sanglante (the Bloody Week) by what were called the forces of reaction

At a lake or any favorite place be safe, no injuries today: Instead remember the July sun baking your skin, the thick heat and the water. Build a memory today so heavy that even if you are dismantled like Louis, you will still hear your brother's laughter in the dark. Happy 4th

The phrase highlights the inherent connection between doubt and thinking: the very act of doubting, for Descartes, implies a thinking self. In other words, the fact that one doubts, or questions, indicates the existence of a thinking, conscious being.

This foundational principle, often expressed as "Cogito, ergo sum" ("I think, therefore I am"), serves as the cornerstone of Descartes' epistemology and marks a pivotal moment in the history of Western philosophy.

"Dubito, ergo cogito" is a Latin phrase meaning "I doubt, therefore I think." It encapsulates the philosophical concept put forth by René Descartes, a prominent philosopher of the 17th century. Descartes used doubt as a methodological tool to arrive at certain knowledge.

By doubting everything that could be doubted, René Descartes sought to find a foundation of knowledge that was indubitable. With this, the concept of time can be deconstructed and explain where the id, ego and superego reside.

Linguists trace the root to either the Hausa word jùjú, meaning an evil spirit, or the French word joujou, meaning toy. The latter was used dismissively by European traders to describe sacred African religious artifacts.

Over time, the concept of juju intersected with Voodoo around protective or cursed charm bags. If a hexed gris-gris ("juju") bag was placed on an enemy's doorstep to cause them harm, people in the community would warn others about the object and its lingering energy as bad juju.
