Canada has binding regulations on everything from guns to butter. And none for AI. Are we going to trust people like Elon Musk & Sam Altman to regulate themselves? Or is our government going to stop cheerleading & start regulating in the public interest? It’s literally what government is for.

Andrew Skurka’s 5 rules for leading a great trip are incredibly relatable as a wilderness guide but they’re also great leadership principles in general.

Possibly a regrettable decision... but started an Instagram after 10 years off the platform. Pretty much just want to share nice videos of our natural spaces and maybe help inspire people to bike to them. My BSK is more for my humanitarian and activism work. www.instagram.com/barn.dell #bikesky

The #Montreal administration is working to make the city more car-centric again. It’s worth taking 10 minutes to complete this public consultation survey (you’ll need to sign up.) Safe cycling infrastructure isn’t guaranteed; it has to be fought for. realisons.montreal.ca/projects/pla...

Excited to share that I’ve become a participatory member of Bâtiment 7. A space where a former industrial site is being transformed into something rare: a collectively governed hub for culture, solidarity, and social experimentation.

B7 isn’t just a building, it’s a long-term community project rooted in shared governance, accessibility, and mutual support. It brings together residents, organizations, and local actors working toward more inclusive, self-managed systems that prioritize social justice and collective autonomy.

’m looking forward to learning from and contributing to a space grounded in horizontal governance, accountability, and collective care while staying rooted in the ongoing life and history of the neighbourhood. Check it out: www.batiment7.org

Mayor of Montreal somehow does a PR post about a international cycling event coming to #Montreal without mentioning bikes or cyclists. It looks as if they changed the words to athlete and sport. My reply to her attached. #Bikesky

This is Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen’s mission patch for the Artemis II mission, painted by Sagkeeng First Nation artist Henry Guimond. You can read more about it here. In a world full of atrocities I’m moved that Canadians are taking part in science & hope. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

A great opportunity at Bike Hub Vancouver: Director of Advocacy and Communications. Took a moment to check out their staff page. How could you not want to work at a place where almost everyone shows off their bike in their staff photo? bikehub.ca/about-us/new... #Bikesky #hiring #Jobs

"Protecting Canada" needs to mean more than militarism and extraction and exclusion. Let's remember to protect the nature that is all around us and that we are all apart of. 💚 Canada and Carney have promised to #ProtectNature. Let's hold them to it >> act.gp/4rJBnYg

I made “hot girls fight fascism” stickers if anyone wants to buy one for $4 🫶 Im going to donate part of the proceeds to an organization that helps immigrant women & children.

Perhaps I should post something, I think. It’s the first thought that pops into my head. Share a link to an article. Write: Enough is enough! Get a hundred likes from others who feel exactly the same—and are also not bothered to do anything about it... - The colony by Annika Norlin #Booksky

I’m currently looking for recommendations for CanCon editors or freelance editors who have experience working with apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic fiction. If you know someone who specializes in this genre (developmental, line, or copy editing), I’d really appreciate any referrals. #BookSky

The federal immigration enforcement presence in Minnesota significantly outnumbers the local Minneapolis police force — by roughly 3 to 5 times according to current reporting. #Minneapolis

Roughly 2,000–3,000 federal immigration agents (including ICE and DHS officers) are deployed in Minnesota v 600 city police officers. #Minneapolis

What post apocalyptic literary trope are you done with in 2025? What realistic scene or portrayal would you want to read in 2026? #Booksky

Montrealers already on the street protesting the closing of bike paths by the new administration. Yelling slogans like : "Bike Paths all year" and "More bikes - less cars" #Bikesky #Montreal

I hope everyone was able to somehow find some level of peace this weekend. This is your reminder to find some what to self care. You have to put your mask on first. My mask is the wild. 🌲 #TimelineCleanse

In 20 minutes I officially start my masters by taking my first course. It's my first step towards becoming a master of disaster. 🔥🌪️🌩️ You can expect some disaster and emergency management content for the next 2 years to come, sorry not sorry.

Well so far meeting some others in the program seems to be a mix of nurses, firefighters and almost exclusively people who love the outdoors. I guess it makes sense when you love nature and care for others working in a field where you mitigate risks to both makes sense.

Studies show that more cycling and added bike lanes boost business by increasing customer visits, monthly spending, and sales per square foot, especially for small shops. Cyclists make frequent small stops and have more disposable income due to lower transport costs. 2/2 #Montreal #Bikesky
