The standard graduate application process has a sequencing problem. You apply, pay the fee, and hope a lab has space. The Vector Graduate Student Program flips this to put research fit first. 🧵

🚨 Excited to share our new paper out in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience! We developed white matter neonatal brain-age models to study brain maturation in full-term and high-risk preterm infants. 🧠👶 Does global brain maturity reveal the toll of clinical complications? Thread 👇 (1/6)

I am thrilled to announce that our group has received a new grant from the Shurl and Kay Curci Foundation to study the neural dynamics of vocal learning in children! I am looking for a postdoc to join us in this effort, currently funded for 2 years. Please reach out with CV and letter of interest.

A first for me: a paper I didn't write was published in a supposedly peer-reviewed journal I've never heard of with me as the sole named author. It's a bibliometric analysis of a field that I have done some work in, so there's a plausible connection, but that's not me.

We think of white matter as the highways of the brain. But when we followed development along those highways, we were surprised. The journey is more complex than we thought. My final PhD paper, “Two Axes of White Matter Development”, is now out in @natcomms.nature.com! 🛣️🧠✨ 🔗 bit.ly/wm2axes

🚨 I'm searching for a full-time research coordinator to join my group & work on precision brain 🧠 network and cognitive control projects at both 3T and 7T. Please rt 🙌 Applications due: Feb. 26 Start date: flexible, as early as June More 👇 #neuroskyence #PsychSciSky

This is a fantastic interview in which a 300-page book is summarized into 15 minutes of (very fast!) talking. What I really came here to ask though is whether "asshole to appetite" is an existing idiom, or did CD make that up?

Anil Dash@anildash.com

lol it’s so genuinely fun seeing Cory take decades of fluency in how these systems are broken and serve it up for a mainstream audiences. Even if you know “enshittification” well, this is worth the watch. And love to @eff.org! youtu.be/d2e-c9SF5nE

Join us for the #NeuroHackademy Neuroimaging and Data Science networking event at this year's @sfn.org meeting. Tues. Nov. 18th from 7–9pm at the Marriott Marquis, Grand Ballroom 4. The event is free; food and drink will be available for purchase from the hotel.

We've been experimenting and improving our practices in building healthy relationships with open source communities, here's our latest thinking on how we approach this important topic!

How should an organization support open source? A key goal for 2i2c is to lead by example in contributing to a healthy open source ecosystem. We've learned a lot over the years - here's our framework for building healthy open source relationships. 👉 2i2c.org/blog/2025/go...

The ecosystem has since expanded with more collaborators and students putting in more pieces of the puzzle. We are really happy with the tools and we have used them (and still used them!) for studies that we are very proud of. We are also delighted that several other groups use the tools.

The work never ends... We are already working on the next version of the software, which will include some substantial new features, and tighter compliance with @bidsstandard.bsky.social draft derivatives for diffusion MRI. Looking forward to update about that soon!

This work has really changed the way I think about this data and about brain development. I hope it will make us all think more about these kinds of details and links between different aspects of the brain. I am incredibly proud and grateful for this collaboration with Audrey et al.!

We think of white matter as the brain's highways—uniform conduits between cortices. But what if we study development along tracts? Turns out the journey matters as much as the cortical destination! We're thrilled to share “Two Axes of White Matter Development” www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... 1/n
