Saurabh Khanna: Invisible Conflicts Ethiopia's civil war cost more lives than the Russia-Ukraine war, yet got far less coverage. This project analyses ten years of conflict and news data across 86 languages to reveal why some wars stay hidden, delivering a public tool to identify them in real time.

Felicia Loecherbach: Seeing Politics Clearly Social media shapes what millions see, believe, and vote on, but scientists still struggle to measure this influence. This project builds the first systematic evidence base for how research choices affect conclusions about political influence online.

Priska Breves: Algorithmic Beauty Ideal AI-generated influencers look flawless but are made by algorithms. This project examines how these "perfect" appearances influence young adults' social comparison and health, and whether labelling them as AI-generated can reduce negative effects.

🎰 Increasing amounts of gambling content in our social media feeds? 📺 Tonight at 9:15 PM on NPO 2: ‘Gokkers op je tijdlijn’ This episode explores how online gambling content is increasingly appearing in our timelines and the impact it may have on young people.

Zembla@zembla-bnnvara.bsky.social

The EEGA team, consisting of Hilde Voorveld, Eva van Reijmersdal, Lauranna Teunissen, Priska Breves, and Merel Walraven, also contributed to this episode. Researcher Lauranna Teunissen will share key insights from the study on what young people actually see on social media in relation to gambling.
