I couldn't steal the thing! Impossible! Unfair! Cheating! Can't stand these bozos.

Flávio Bolsonaro: "It is impossible to recognize the (Brazil) election results in the context of how these things happened. We are going to use our legal team, we are going to request the annulment of these elections."

Sad. Awful. Unsurprising. Gross. Every adjective applies both to this move, and to the state of the games industry in general. Taking a buzzsaw to creativity is never right, but here we are. I hope the people there can find new jobs, and the Mass Effect and Dragon Age IPs can find new homes.

With the Cleveland Browns reaching 3-1, get ready for a slimy sports media cycle of praise for Deshaun Watson using phrasing of overcoming "adversity", "off-field troubles", "all that stuff you've heard", "personal issues", and a litany of other nonsense.

Folks wonder why it's so hard for victims to come forward, and a big part of it is stories like his. Men affiliated with sports, politics, fraternities, or who are simply rich get to dodge consequences, escape justice, and in many cases continue to mistreat, harass, and even assault women.

He's no victim:, the 25+ women he sexually assaulted are. He hasn't faced real consequences, hasn't shown the faintest shred of remorse, contrition, or personal improvement - his interviews this season have been an utterly disgusting display of entitlement and toxic ignorance of his own actions.

So Discord is somehow determining whether accounts are 18+ or not, and it's surely not by random chance, so I'm left with the inevitable conclusion: they're feeding everything you've ever done into an LLM. Always remember, folks: nothing you do on Discord or Slack is truly private.

Gross gross gross. Can't wait to see the inevitable "oopsie we leaked all your personal info that you used to verify" blog post months down the line.

Discord finally confirmed for real when they're rolling out age verification service-wide (tomorrow) and I've not seen a single person make a peep about it

Yet another awful, awful decision by Twitch. They seem hellbent on making their platform worse, daily. Please Twitch, push more garbage "save your stream streak" notifications on us, while you're at it!

Zach Bussey 🍁@zachbussey.tos.gg

Twitch has removed the "Following Since" date from view for all users. Streamers and Moderators can still see Account Created and Following Since information locally on their channel.

What's that? Severance Season 3 in 2028 isn't good enough? Pluribus Season 1 part 2 in [who even knows] won't cut it? SHOCKING

A new report from Luminate has found that long gaps between seasons of streaming TV shows are leading to major losses in viewership. More than a 1 year gap is seen to largely cause a significant loss in viewership. (Source: luminatedata.com/reports/2026...)

It's become hugely dispiriting how frequently I'm having to contact other tabletop news sites asking that they -please- cite BoardGameWire as the source of the story they've just directly lifted, slightly reworded or run through ChatGPT before slapping it on their site without attribution.

Friendly reminder to all to check your fire safety equipment! Just averted a disaster (toaster: do not toast yourself please) because we had a fire blanket right on the wall in the kitchen. If you don't have one of these, I heartily recommend it - and make sure your extinguisher is handy too!

oh dear lord, i just got a phone call - it seems that the keywords attached to our google search listing have ISSUES! I understand that google can't personally call each and every one of us, so an robotic automated recording was best. What do I do? Do I just burn the whole website down? CRISIS!

I have seen a lot of bad apologies in my time here on the Internet, but: “I accept full responsibility for lapses in judgment by people in my inner circle” is one of the most hilarious failpologies of all time. Kawhi Leonard is an absolute clown, and him pretending he didn't know is such a joke.

Every exhibitor's worst nightmare. Gamescom should really do something to help the affected studios here - a special spotlight or something for these games? I've heard so many stories over the years of thefts at shows in Germany, very organized efforts. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/its-hea...

I'm signing an executive order today that says that if anyone actually calls it "Lake America", you are legally allowed to dress up as Spiderman and do whatever a Spiderman does (as seen in action recently)

Oh hey, Twitch added an opt-out (of course its on by default!) to gobble your stream content into some AI training garbage disposal. Lets be honest, Amazon will 100% use your content to train generative AI even if you unclick this, but I'm doing it anyway. Hurray futile resistance measures!

What an absolute fraud, which is not a huge surprise if you've heard literally anything Rodgers has said over the past couple years. This is good and important journalism, and I hope this story makes its way in front of a lot more eyes.

David at FOIAball@foiaball.com

Aaron Rodgers is obsessed with his own privacy. His neighbors? Not so much. After moving to a new town, Rodgers used a cutout to secretly fund the local police department’s Flock-style surveillance program. www.foiaball.com/p/aaron-rodg...

Every so often a Magic set comes out, and I'm like "Oh! I should play a little Magic." Then, I play a couple drafts, and once I lose (or frankly win) the "Did You Draw a Land?" Simulator portion of the Draft Experience, I remember that I only want to play a *little* Magic, and move on.

"At least we provided some training data for the LLMs" is the new "At least we created some value for the shareholders" (I would surely get more engagement on this post if I made a garbage AI comic with those words in bubbles, but...no thanks.)

I remember Electronic Arts from the 80s, making weird games for the Commodore 64. They grew and grew, and made a lot of iconic games along the way, and unfortunately have been a mess for a while. It's sad to see where they're headed now.

If you are in a sales position, and my "We aren't interested, thank you," isn't the end of the conversation, I will probably never work with your company. This message brought to you by Every Factory Rep Interaction at Gen Con. I try and be polite about it, but it really wears my patience thin.

Special points to the guy last year who was super faux apologetic over my revelation that his factory spams us with email all the time, and promised to fix that and even gave me his card. I gave him mine on a lark to see what would happen. Yes, the emails continued, lol. Of course they did.
