Mars this morning. the Hellas impact basin (at the bottom of the image) appears to be filled with airborn yellow dust, while the north is dominated by the North Polar Hood, ice clouds.

Also a recent Mars image. The planet is still very far away and this apprs quite tiny, but give it a few months to get closer. #astronomy #saturn #astrophotography #planets #astroimaging #space

Today was clean the corrector plate on my C14 day. Also replaced all the spacers around it, which it seems the last owner neglected to put backbone there were only 3 and allowed the corrector to move around when pointing at different parts of the sky. Should hold collimation much better now.

The Republican party is a criminal enterprise led by a convicted felon. No republican deserves your vote, as every one of them from the school board to the Supreme Court enable its crimes

Saturn this morning at 4:27 UT. The moonsa Dione, Enceladus, and Tethys are also visible. 4 x 60 seconds, C14, ZWO ASI662MC camera. Dunkelheit Observatory #astronomy #planets #astrophotography #saturn

I hate that "news" is some kind of comodity today, and every story you click on demands you subscribe before reading. Why the fuck would I want to subscribe to some newspaper in Missouri when I don't live there, and only want to read one story, once?

Why can't I post an AVI video from my PC but I can through the app on my phone? And if I send said video to my phone and post it from there, it gets a flickering problem...

Composite of both ingress and egress of Venus yesterday. Astro-Physics 92mm at f/6.6 with Celestron NexImage 20. #astronomy #astrophotography #venus #moon #occultation

Here's a deep stretch of the hydrogen-alpha nebulosity in area of the sky from about +75 to +90 declination (the bright star near the middle is Polaris). This image is a mosaic of 77 fields, each with a total of 4 hours exposure. #MDWSkySurvey #astronomy #astrophotography

That there are billionaires at all is due to the complete moral failure of american politics from both parties, though mostly from the right, who preach greed as a virtue rather than an actual sin that's mentioned many times in most religions.

This is a composite shot from 9/14/2024 showing Jupiter and all four moons. C/14 at f/11, Player One Uranus-C camera. Callisto is moved slightly closer to the planet than it was at 8:23 when these videos were captured.

Last night was the first time in almost two months I got to image. Pn the pickering scale, seeing was a P-U, but enough i could test a few upgrades to my system. Here is Jupiter with a Celestron NexImage 20 color camera at f/11, and a QHY5L678M camera with a ZWO Methane filter, also at f/11.
