How does this "bridge" actually work? It looks like they aren't actually walking along his arms and back. So there must already be a bridge, and he's just pushing up against it. There's a metaphor here, but one that makes Christianity redundant, or a psychological crutch at best. 🧐

Say, do Catholic claims of "incorruptibility" of "saint" corpses extend to C-14 isotope levels indicating freshly dead remains? Either way, why could Catholic Jesus not have rendered incorruptible some whole original manuscripts of scripture?

According to John 19:27, Jesus' mother lived with the author of the Gospel from his crucifixion onwards. In all that time, he didn't ask her—a first-hand witness—about Jesus' conception and childhood, but Matthew and Luke were able to suss out those details from wherever? 🤔

Does John's version of the feeding of the 5,000 take place in Bethsaida as some Christian apologists, arguing for "undesigned coincidences," claim? I doubt it.

Today’s episode is, “A Feeding Miracle, Bethsaida, and Undesigned Coincidences.”1 In her 2017 book Hidden in Plain View: Undesigned Coincidences in the Gospels and Acts,2 philosopher Lydia McGrew makes the argument that the reason Jesus asks Philip in John 6:6 where they can find bread to feed the five thousand is because, Luke’s version of the story tells us (Luke 9:11), the miracle happened at Bethsaida, the city the Johannine Evangelist reports was the town from which Philip hailed (John 1:44).
