BREAKING: The U.S. government is granting visas to Flávio Bolsonaro and his family following his defeat in Brazil's presidential election.

Brief Review: The Revanche Cycle by Craig Schaefer. If someone else had handed me the first book and expected me to finish it, I would never have gotten through it. Seeing as it's you, I persevered. The lack of character development was kind of frustrating until I learned to ignore it... 8

That said, the storyline was interesting and engaging, if a little predictable. Your bounty hunters turning the tables twice was the only thing I didn't really see coming as I had no idea Renata could act that well. A map would have also been of tremendous benefit as I have no real idea of the...

...location in reference to any other location. Even a basic quick sketch "thieves map" would have been incredibly helpful. Knowing this is an early work makes me hope that you have improved significantly and that the remainder of your collection is more than just good dialogue. 🙂

...and treat the novels as more of a screenplay. There's SO MUCH dialogue, which is well-written, but I have no real understanding of many of the characters' motives, even after finishing the fourth novel. It was really hard to know what to do with Felix, who started as a main character, but...

...was so one-dimensional as a person. Livia made more sense, but even then she developed mostly through dialogue. I'm sure they're incredibly developed characters in your mind, but it doesn't work for the reader unless you can express that on paper and that was a big fail in this series.

A withered hand would not be noticeable concealed inside a glove. Only the lack of a glove on the other hand would be noticed. Nothing at all would be noticed if both hands were gloved, unless it were in the heat of Summer. 7

Okay, former enemies in a few paragraphs are now teaching sword-fighting without character development? Doesn't follow. Same with suddenly doing the deed in a time of crisis? No attraction whatsoever noticeable in any paragraph prior to this. Confusingly abrupt changes. 6

I love being at #IMS on an off-weekend. I can get close enough to read the plaque on the scoring pylon. Always nicer with a few race cars behind it, though. #USFProChampionships

Lunch. Can't get into the NXT testing session unless I want to go stand on wet grassy mounds (which I don't), but I'll get the #USFProChampionships Fall Combine tomorrow and Sunday, if there's anybody left. Last year, half the field did not bother with Sunday and the field this year is TINY.

"Ich bin ein Berliner." I am not a sausage or a donut. The female pope idea was obvious the second you compared her to her brother in the early chapters of book 1. 3

This did not age well.

FWIW, I predict a Mac Clark vs Liam McNeilly championship battle in #USFPro2000 in 2026. With a possible wildcard in Andres Cardenas. Assuming everybody has their passports and visas sorted, of course. #USFProChampionships

What's your favorite color? Magenta. Where do you get your drugs? Columb(i)a.... Drown yourself, old man? Costantini autocorrects to something else entirely.... 2

"I could shake my tiny fist And swear I wasn't wrong. But what's the sense in arguing, When you're all alone?" Cthulhu was a nice touch, but I knew the art collector would die and the butler would be an informant almost immediately upon their introductions. More character development, please. 1

Why THE FUCK are we gearing up to destroy the world?! Do the rich not realize that once they've gotten rid of the rest of us, there will be nobody to grow their food, produce their goods, repair their toys, mine their gold, refine their oil, or fix the robots they expect to do all this for them????

Metroid. The original on the NES, with all the flawed codes featuring symbols we had to guess and learning you could enter "JUSTIN BAILEY" and a bunch of zeroes to get full everything. It was one of the first games I can remember beating and I played the crap out of it to learn every secret.

Twenty-five years ago, I was at work flipping channels on my radio when I heard a local DJ (Mancow) shrieking about the WTC. I ran to the nearby break room and yelled for them to put on the news. They changed the channel just in time for us to see the second plane hit. The excuse for surveillance.

September is suicide prevention month. I am a survivor and I have a semicolon tattoo. Gender affirming care is suicide prevention. Show up for the trans people in your life. Even a hug can make a difference. And, my sisters and brotbers, you are not alone!

If you have G0øgle Mąaps installed on your phone, please piss them off for kowtowing to that orange infant in office. Bring up the app and click on Contribute at the bottom of the main page and click on Add Place. Then put in details about #LakeOntario and send it in. Or add a fake place. Up 2 U.

Things aren't falling apart because people suddenly started caring too much or demanding equality. Everything is breaking down because a handful of ruthless billionaires hijacked our governments, gutted public services, and turned the entire system into a rigged piggy bank for themselves.

I think I'll stick with Lake Ontario, but the below options sound like good choices if I felt like renaming a Great Lake. #LakeOntario

Adam Selzer@adamchicago.bsky.social

Lake Awesomesauce Lake Michigan 2: Electric Boogaloo Lake Lake Baby Lake The Pause in “Good Vibrations” Lake Bobaloobop Awop Bam Boom Lake ‘59 Les Paul Lake Alice Coltrane’s 1971 Meteoric Sensation “Univeral Consciousness.” I mean, at least have fun with it if you’re gonna be be a total dipshit.

JB Pritzker, you had better NOT run for president in two years, because the people of Illinois WILL NOT FORGET the ridiculous toll hikes you just enacted on OUR roads, to put more money in YOUR pocket. YOU are NOT on our side. #JBPritzker #JBPritzkerSucks #PritzkerIsADINO

Airforce Major Jason Watson has been arrested AGAIN for speaking out against this regime and calling for the impeachment and removal of both the VP and the P, after his interview yesterday on CNN. Shout this from the rooftops because mainstream media isn't. #StandWithMajorWatson #JasonWatson

"My girlfriend stopped paying attention to me because I was not meeting her needs in the relationship, so I'm blaming it on F1 because I couldn't possibly be the problem. Plus her fandom is a very convenient scapegoat for my personal inadequacies. It's all Liberty Media's fault." DIE! DIE! DIE!🙄🙄

Elizabeth Blackstock@elizablackstock.bsky.social

someone just dropped their manifesto in my comments section

"P.S. I love women, I really do, I just have no idea who to blame for my own inadequacies and shortcomings because it obviously isn't MY fault. So I'm going to continue treating women as if it's THEIR and F1's faults because, again, it's definitely not MINE."

The modern GOP: A billionaire-funded grift that uses the church as a megaphone to convince the working class that social progress is an existential threat.

OMFG, this is the best announcement EVER!!!!! #USFProChampionships #USF2000 #ZachVeach I might have a new favorite USF team, which is something I haven't had since Belardi....

Final Report: No issues headed North of the Cheddar Curtain. No destruction. Cops are out already around Plymouth so mind your speed. Weather is clear but cold for June, so Wisconsin normal. See you all soon! #RoadAmerica

Traveler's Report: Destruction along 294 North from 55 onward still exists, but no lane closures. Highway is still divided and things get squirrely near the Hillside Strangler, but all is clear after that all the way to the border. I think that's the record for the most expensive gas at this TA.

RAJU: But what evidence is there to prove the California election is rigged? MIKE JOHNSON: Look, some of these efforts are so diabolical and so far upstream it's impossible to prove. But I think everybody knows instinctively that something is wrong here.
