You may recall several times in the past when my president was involved in sexual scandals: • "Locker room talk" • Hush money payment • A birthday poem and drawing • A criminal conviction • And more! What blows my mind is that all of these incidents predate his presidency.

There were some heavy implications in Natalie Harp's love letters, but nothing that proved beyond a doubt that their relationship is physical. The only reason I can imagine that anyone would write those things is to trick him into thinking her love is SO PURE that it shouldn't be sullied by touch.

Look, I know he makes threats, and even without his reprisal, going public about that kind of relationship will change how everyone sees you forever. But...no new allegations in ten years? Reeeeally...? This is going to be the thing that makes me cross the line into full-blown conspiracy theorist.

Does ANYONE believe he's been faithful to Melania for the past ten years? Even if they have an open marriage, how have we not heard about any of his relationships? EVERYTHING that happens within the Trump administration gets leaked, often by Trump shouting in front of a crowd or a helicopter.

He can't hold a rally without ranting about attractive bodies of all kinds. How could he possibly keep an affair a secret? And it's not like those in his orbit haven't gotten caught. I only have to say "Beetlejuice" once, and you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Two recent milestones for this month's horror movie log: 1. More than 31 entries. Even if I stop now (not a chance!) I'll have averaged more than one per day in October 2026. Good for me? 2. At least one movie of each rating, from the full five stars down to half a star. The average is ~2.9. Yay?

I finally gave It Follows a try. I put it off for 12 years because none of the descriptions sounded particularly appealing to me, and I was right. I didn't care about that stuff. You know how you could have gotten me to watch it sooner? YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME IT WAS SHOT NEAR MY FIRST HOUSE!

The big problem with "Movie Ending--EXPLAINED" YouTube channels is that they're always just some dweeb speaking to a camera and cutting to clips of the movie, when what I really need is a rapper recapping the plot over the credits.

I know that Wall Street's biggest investors are gullible, unscrupulous knuckleheads who only care about a quick buck, but I sometimes wonder why they don't see the long-term value in big, stable corporations that are explicitly anti-A.I. Then I remember that those corporations don't exist.

After watching the whole Chucky series, it just made sense to finally give M≡GAN a chance. I can see why nine-year-olds lost their minds over it. I checked out within the first half hour. I also found this on Prime Video. I turned if off quickly, but don't be surprised if I'm dead in seven days.

Sometimes venturing into the unknown reveals hidden treasures. Other times, you find Vivica A. Fox in an unwatchable, made-for-Xumo Night of the Living Dead remake...in a bad way; not a fun way. Thoughts and prayers for the ONE other person who's logged Night of the Rising Dead on Letterboxd.

Letterboxd users have given Dracula 3000 an average rating of 1.57/5 stars. I, meanwhile, have ranked it as the third best of the 15 movies I've watched so far this month. Interpret that whatever way you like. Also: I checked off the last Chucky movie yesterday. That series is surprisingly decent!

I was away from my computer for the last few days, but I've now filled in the blanks on the ol' Letterboxd list. • Talk to Me has taken the #1 spot. It rules. • Backrooms is just okay. • Hokum is probably good, but it's not a good plane movie. • Texas Chain Saw Masterpiece? Not exactly.

letterboxd.comWhy Is Oct. 2026 Afraid of Seven?Oh, no! More horror movies! It's October, and that means it's time for my annual attempt to watch, rank, and maybe write a bit about a minimum of one seasonally appropriate movie each day for a month ...

I can't stop thinking about this secondhand book I saw in a thrift shop yesterday. If we can rank prayers of the Bible, or at least sort them into tiers, then by definition, we must be able to identify the 21 least effective. How's the book's previous owner doing? Did their prayers come true?

S: Thy Will Be Done A: The Prayer of a Righteous Person Has Great Power as It Is Working B: Prayers Will Be Answered in the Order in Which They Are Received C: Reply Hazy D: The Lord Works in Mysterious Ways F: Why Have You Forsaken Me?

Rats! I forgot to save my Letterboxd list after ranking Monster High 2, and now all the stuff I wrote about it is GONE. It was briefly #2 on the list (link above), though it's now dropped down to #4, and that's still pretty okay! Not very scary, but a good one to watch ahead of the midterms.

What's cool about the World Wide Web is that I can ask it to show me people arguing over whether it's "Duck, Duck, Goose," or "Duck, Duck, Grey Duck" at 4:30 in the morning, and blam! The impassioned debate will simply appear before my very eyes.

Wow. So you're allowed to post a .gif of Bugs Bunny sawing Florida off of the country and letting it drift to sea, but the president of the United States can't publicly invite foreign adversaries to annihilate San Diego and Los Angeles? Hypocritical much??

Yikes! More than half my life. Retronauts is the podcast that convinced me there was something to this whole podcast thing. It got me through some tough times, set me on the road to creating my own shows, and introduced me to good friends. I'm not sure how I would have survived college without it.

today marks a whopper of an anniversary as we released the very first episode of Retronauts on October 4, 2006. Twenty years of podcasts! Thank you for listening for two entire decades. What's your favorite episode or Retronauts memory?

• A better and more varied selection of horror movies than any of my paid streaming services. • The worst video playback technology on the modern Internet. In conclusion, Tubi is a land of contrasts. Thank you.

A.I.'s less like a microwave; more like a cardboard appliance from an IKEA display. That was fished out of a sewer. But still requires electricity. No, more than that. Water, too. And it displaces people. Eliminates jobs and healthcare. Steals. Kills. Why would you bake with anything else?

There's never a good time to learn artists you love and admire are getting destroyed by boneheaded corporate mistakes (or worse, their own stupidity), but maaaaaan, I just started playing Resident Evil Village for the first time two days ago. How do you go from THAT to THIS?

Imagine a five-star restaurant dumping their oven by the curb because microwaves are faster; replacing their pricey herbs and spices with whatever contributions from the community they swept up at the end of the night.

Not to disparage microwaves. They're not a suitable replacement for the ovens and stoves used to prepare the food that enable fancy restaurants to remain operational, but they do reliably serve a real purpose with speed and efficiency.

I'm light on details, but I just heard from a family member who's trapped at work because someone pulled a gun. I think the danger has passed without anyone getting hurt. Regardless, my stance now is the same as my stance was before I heard about any of this: Repeal the second amendment already!

Sounds like they're letting everyone leave. I'm under the impression that there was a news crew on the scene, but I can't find a word about the situation anywhere. (Of course, I'm not using specific language, so it's not like these posts would turn up in a search, either.)
