Without question, the defense attorney in the Jan6 election subversion case is aware and prepared to defend his clients' intent to overturn a lawful election. Blanche's loyalty lies with Trump not the US Constitution, rule of law or the people. An untenable conflict of interest.
Tragic that this is our attorney general. The question is not crazy in light of 1/6. This president already tried to overturn a lawful election. That is a stone cold fact of history.
BASH: The worry is that we end up in a situation where President Trump tries to overturn the election and the result of that could be like what we saw after January 6-- BLANCHE: Stop it! You gotta stop it with that! That's crazy BASH: This is a president who has a history

The dilemma facing rural hospitals is that they do not have enough labors and deliveries to justify the cost of a full blown unit. Just one more reason why many of our rural areas are losing residents.
Most of Georgia’s counties are without a labor and delivery unit. To fill those gaps, the state is looking to equip emergency rooms to handle obstetric emergencies. Advocates and doctors worry, however, that the ER is being used as a stopgap.
This piece is well worth reading to end, for the quite evocative comparison of Trump’s last days to the final scene of Sunset Boulevard (if you haven’t seen it, I highly reccomend)
"This is the story again and again as Trump tours the redder parts of the country: The venues are smaller, the crowds are less excited, and the man at the podium is weirder" — @paulwaldman.bsky.social

Here's the thing about tipping blue, even if it's one perfect storm election. This would mean that a cohort of Repubs dislike Paxton enough to vote D for the first time. As someone who voted straight R until '16, I can tell you that breaking the taboo is a watershed for the rest of your voting life.
I am so freaking confused.
Trump: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"
I’m not even a Texan and this makes me want to raise the Lone Star. And, man, the downers attacking him saying “Texas was built on genocide” and such need to grow up. Every culture that has ever existed has its good and bad. Guess what? If you despise your own country good luck winning elections!
Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway. To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back. Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.
