🚨 REFERENDUM THREAD: There’s only one way Alberta separatists will get anywhere near 50% of the vote: APATHY. Numerous polls have shown us that separation has 20-25% support. BUT – separatists are highly motivated. (h/t @canadianpolling.bsky.social) 1/8 #ableg #cdnpoli

Elon Musk/Tesla just unveiled their long-rumoured 'flying car' at today's Roadster event. An impressive marketing video catering to the 'Everyone is 12 now' population, but totally useless for everyday driving (and unlikely to ever be street legal in any way).

As petro-stans jump all over this tragic accident with "THAT'S ONE OF THE NEW ELECTRIC BUSES!", it's already been reported that one of the buses was LNG-powered. So as far as I know at this moment -- not electric. Hope the other injured folks pull through 😢. www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/arti...

We know microplastics get into our bodies, and stay there. This is not a good thing, although a lot of research is needed to figure out the details. Want to reduce your exposure to microplastics? Read on 👇: 2/5

We have to do this because the UCP banned electronic vote tabulators at the behest of it’s conspiracy-addled base. It’s almost like it was designed to reduce trust in the system.

The patient poll workers have to fold up and initial ten small pieces of paper for each individual voter. Then you have unfold ten tiny ballots and mark your choice on each one and fold it back up. And then you have to put each individual ballot in its own colour coded ballot box.

This is a giant load of bullsh*t designed to confuse those who are easily confused. OPTION 1 = STAY, AND OPTION 2 = LEAVE. That's it. We don't need the uncertainty of separation hanging over and dividing us for years to come. 7/8

What’s my point? YOUR VOTE IS ESSENTIAL. If those of us opposed to separation are overconfident and apathetic, the vote could be very close. So read up on what you need to do, and make a plan to get out and vote, regardless of what the polls say. 5/8

The “Stay” camp, however, is not. We’re confident in the numbers from pollsters. We correctly believe that if 100% of people voted, the “Separate” option would fail miserably. Unfortunately, this confidence is bad news for the vote. 2/8

Very interesting piece/take by the esteemed Andrew Leach. TL;DR (but you should!) version: one of her proposed constitutional amendments would make it *harder* to build pipelines, not easier. It might, in fact, give a progressive BC government a veto over them. leach.substack.com/p/is-daniell...

Hey Elections Alberta: I mailed in my ballots today. The side flaps of the return envelope were not glued, and did not have any sort of adhesive. I taped them shut and mailed it, but this had better not invalidate my votes due to "tampering." The inner ballot envelope was fine. ⬇️ #ableg
