Some of you in the chat know I've been taking care of my invalid mother for the past few years. She died peacefully at home this morning, gone to her reward at last. We will miss her terribly but glad her pain is over. If you see a Death Stranding shitpost following this it was scheduled I swear.

When DS2 was announced I wasn't too excited tbh. I loved the first game but Iwanted to see Kojima do something new, this was just Sam linking up the chiral network again. But I forgot how much fun it is to just plug in your baby and do porter shit. Now I'm playing it I hope they make 100 more.

Watching Eizouken and the only new game that feels like someone passionately bringing their Greatest World full of oddball ideas to life is Death Stranding. When Asakusa goes into her imagination sequences I see Kojima telling Shinkawa he wants Sam shot out of a catapult and throwing piss grenades.

Looking at Yasushi Nirasawa's godtier Volfoss monster designs and wishing I could make something like that. Then I realize I already kinda have with the Twitchy Morrison Shooting Range book. Not comparing it on any level to Nirasawa's work of course, but it's a thing and I made it. buff.ly/ko26pFK

One reason I like making puzzle books is because I don't have the chops to draw proper comics. Trying to lay out a practice page here and the sequential stuff around the puzzle is just coming out super bland. I gotta make it more dynamic or change the whole approach, cos I quite like the dialogue.

Update: I like the idea of just doing talking heads around the puzzle. Sounds boring but the puzzles will be interesting pictures themselves, and I can do some fun things with the talking heads, like sometimes they bust out of their boxes. Let's see how the characters look drawn this small.

The idea for the new book is to use 2 different notebooks, dot paper for the pressure point connect the dots puzzles and graph paper for the nanomachine number puzzles. Will it work, I don't know, my biggest concern is not having enough space.

Been doing lots of writing for the nanomachines vs pressure points idea, got a lot of scenes down but haven't tried any character designs yet. So when the scenes play in my imagination they're just blurry undefined people, like an amnesiac's flashback.

Sad Thug: Go on, explode my head, what do I care. N: What's his problem? Thug 2: His girlfriend left him, he hasn't been the same since. N: Depression? Easily treated with nanotechnology. A quick injection will elevate everything in your brain that matters, from your oxytocin to your serotonin.

P: Put your cocktail away! The issue is with his heart, not his brain. (Shikanhaku pressure point attack) There. He will fall deeply in love with the first person he sees when he awakens, his previous despair forgotten. Thug 2: (Carrying the thug away) Just in time for tomorrow's bachelor auction!

Nano: I haven't brushed my teeth all week. This pearly white sheen and minty fresh breath? All nanomachines. Pressure: I've NEVER brushed my teeth. One pressure point technique on my gums accelerates the antimicrobial agents and enzymes in my saliva for a natural calcium and phosphate loaded rinse.

N: See this steak? One injection of nanomachines and it cooks itself, to a perfect medium rare finish every time. Prefer your steak well done? Easily programmable. P: Flesh is flesh. Even a porterhouse cut has pressure points to be manipulated. (pokes the steak and it sizzles) And it's self-saucing.

Doing pre-production stuff like character designs and writing is super fun but it does leave me prone to feeling like I'm in a rut. It's so much easier to sit down and put in work when I'm in actual page production. Maybe that's why I'm working on 2 projects at once, but it just doubles the problem.

It's my birthday! Also Teacher's Day in China, so I always get 2 gifts. A balanced diet is a milk tea in each hand, baby. The best present for me would be you going to buff.ly/H5l42Wh and downloading my six Morrison illustrated puzzle books, they are free and loaded with fun stories and characters.

Watching Macaw celebrate his birthday (a day before mine) by playing his favourite games (all barbarian games) for 24 hours really makes me want to do the same thing for my birthday. I will fight the urge to cancel my classes and game all day, but I am gonna do a Crime Boss Rockay City run.
