The federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 for more than 17 years. That’s the longest period in U.S. history. And while the cost of living skyrockets, millions of us are forced to survive on the same $7.25/hr. It’s past time for legislators to put working people first and raise the wage! OMFG

Looked up the Lufthansa strikes as it affected a school trip for my daughter-it looks like they have had to strike fairly frequently. Why does Lufthansa have such a bad relationship with their pilots?

McGowan: You're saying 46 Americans died, so we should attack this country. Here at home, 68,000 Americans die a year because they don't have health insurance. So, if we're going to spend billions of dollars on something…

I would just like to brag that I took my dog to the vet and she didn’t try to bite the vet at all. Not even a little bit. Was she on heavy tranquilizers? Yes. Did it take five years to get to this point? Also yes. But she did a thing that was very hard for her and I am very proud.

Also the vet was impressed at how clean her ears were which I pretended was me but in reality it is because we have a cat that likes to lick earwax. No one but the dog tolerates him doing it but I guess it is good for her?

1) When my autistic child was younger the city I lived in wanted to build more “sensory inclusive” parks. The city asked parents what would be most helpful for their children. Myself and a whole lot of other parents said fencing.

2) The city felt fencing made the parks not look inviting, so they chose not to include it. This made the “sensory friendly” parks unusable for a large portion of autistic kids in the city who eloped as part of their autism.

The BBC’s decision to air racial slurs while editing out someone yelling free Palestine feels the same way. The decisions they made about what to air and where to seat the man with Tourette’s was a lot more about them looking inclusive than actually being inclusive.

This letter reminds me of the angry notes my kids pushed under the door when they were in time out. The spelling is slightly better than a six year old’s, but the tone is the same.

This post is unavailable.

This is a really good time to warn your children and friends against serving in the national guard or the military. I got to see my friends return from toppling a dictator with TBIs and PTSD and I got to see them having to fight hard to get the benefits their recruiters promised them.

‘Medicare for All’ still big. “In a survey of 1,207 likely voters [from] Nov. 14–17, 2025, ...65% of voters [supported] a Medicare for All system, described as a ‘national health insurance program... that would cover [everyone] & replace... private health insurance...’" jacobin.com/2025/11/medi...

But the policy's popularity never faded. A new poll finds strong majority support for the neglected idea among Americans across the political spectrum.

Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

Republicans thought they had a permanent hold over young men. They didn't. Spanberger wins men 18-29 by 14%, Sherrill by 10%, and Mamdani by a stunning 40%.

If I had explain American history in one sentence, I could do worse than "John Brown was hung for treason, but Robert E. Lee was not."

John Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry began on this day in 1859.

Unions aren’t a trend—they’re how we survive corporate greed. Real change doesn’t come from the top; it starts when workers organize from the ground up.

Joni Ernst’s lifelong legacy for women serving in the military from her time in the Senate is Pete Hegseth. Every woman denied promotion, denied a job specialty, sexually harassed, or forced out for bs reasons, owes it all to Ernst and the Republican Party.
