Its been a while since I last posted here, but time to try somethin else than X(im honestly tired off the slop Im reading there) So here's my offline hobby - I'm repairing a car. Almost 8 months already, but I'm pretty close. Just few pics from process

Didn't really want to sit much in front of computer, but I really wanted to share my knowledge about multi window support using flutter. Wrote article explaining all aspects and also created example app to show it in action - medium.com/@alexsinelni...

medium.comMulti window support with flutter desktopOne of things that flutter currently missesβ€Šβ€”β€Šmulti window support. I’ve developed few desktop apps with flutter and made one open source…

Got multi window support to work on flutter/macos 2nd window is actually a NSPopover which acts as top bar menu dropdown Multi window support in flutter was always its weak point, but with just little bit of digging into internals - its not that easy to achieve #flutter

Took weekends off from social networks. Don't feel much rested though, but I don't have much thoughts to post. Feels like "being in stream" helps to generate post ideas PS: I have using AI to create posts, so you'll never see it on my page

Spent 30 mins debugging why some styles works on dev but not on prod. Well, turned out its how vile handle CSS compilation. In my case had to add this postcss section to get it compiled during assets:precompile step #rubyonrails #Ruby

Made this quick Cars&Bids mobile app prototype, just to find out Doug recently launched his own app. Well, lesson learned, you gotta be faster showing off something. Had this app gathering dust since August Fully operational, done with #flutter

So what's the point of Hotwire Native? How is it different from phonegap/cordova or any other web view based framework? All of them provided access to hardware APIs + some bridging mechanism to call native APIs(and components) There are tools like flutter, react native, why making one more?

I regret adding Vue.js to one of my rails apps. I started it few years ago when turbo wasnt popular and was lacking few features. Today I would go with Rails + Turbo + Alpinejs. This stack covers 95% of all possible frontend interaction cases

Never offer fixed price for the job you haven't seen yet Offering MVP for $5000 is a road to nowhere since you'll end up spending much more time than these $5000 covers I've done that mistake, so you shouldn't

A billion dollar idea - Streaming service which connects all other streaming services together. Charge by watched hours(say $15 for 100stream-hours) and split income evenly by hours spend with content provided by according provider. Extra hours can be bought separately

I noticed I started to overcomplicate things. When working on simple feature I think about extensions I can add later and that turns from 1h task into few days job. I know this is partially "experience problem", since you already have done that many times and know what possibly can be asked extra

When posting your #buildinpublic progress, do you prefer to post images or videos? I know some content can only be image, but the one than can be filmed - should it be video or image with description?

Just a friendly advice to folks who provides freelancing services - make sure you have at least 2-3 popular payment options. Such as swift/ACH, wise, PayPal, payoneer or any other popular services that used across whole globe. As I client I don't want to use some shady services to pay

Ceiling speakers greatly underrated. It helps to create this "lounge" vibe without actually distracting you from work I installed them long ago but didn't really used much until few weeks ago

Creating landing in framer doesnt equals to creating design. Was looking for designer, came across a nice guy, but turned out he'd do only framer websites. Thats not exactly designing as it, more like landing page creator.

I hate a thing when you pay for software, then you ask related questions(why something isn't working as docs describe, or point to obvious bugs) and hearing silence in return. Like why would I even continue my subscription for next period if you can't respond me at all?

As I'm continue to work on updatify.io I've started to use app's widget to share my own progress through my own landing page. Its not many visitors there, but this way I can show to future customers what's the progress on building it. With better SEO I could have better results #buildinpublic

Spent this morning adding docs section to website creation flow. Once created you shown code snippet to embed updatify.io widget to your website Not gotta lie I like how its done on few other apps, so I copied their approach until I have better idea how to do it #buildinpublic #elixirlang

So, how's everyones opinion on bluesky? I personally find recommendation algo a bit weak Also UX part still behind Twitter's But I'm happy I don't have to remove bots everyday And no "lets connect" posts everywhere 🀣
