I'm also very happy to have opened #AO3 and already found 198 Carl/Akram stories in the #DeptQ section. What's the ship name? Caram? We're so back man

Fun but very hard exercise to pick 9 #videogames that shaped me and my tastes. Honorable mention for Animal Crossing: Wild World which literally changed my life trajectory, but that's less about the game itself. I can definitely see the influence they had in what I want to write 😬 my9games.net/en

Starting an internet Trans noir called Jaw Filler the blurb of which promises something deeply unhinged and terminally online. The first paragraph DEFINITELY delivered.

In good #writing fashion, I spent the evening importing all my recent work and current drafts into #obsidian so I could have all of my projects in one place, instead of, you know, actually writing. Yay?

Playing #Demonschool and loving the clear #Persona influences. Maybe all these years of #gaming deep dive video essays did do something for my critical thinking skills after all?!

From Pity The Reader, #writing advice by #KurtVonnegut: the narrator/ character's reaction to something tells the reader that something is important. Ofc it's true, but it made me think how cool the flip side of it is – when the lack of reaction is used to establish a different type of normality

Rebranding this account to post about my writing instead of just duplicating my bookstagram. It'll keep the two a bit separate, and I won't have to verify I'm an adult AGAIN with Bluesky 🙄. Hello, #writing community! Hopefully you have space for one more person trying to get back into writing...

Inside of me there are two wolves. One is firmly against getting a Switch 2 due to Nintendo's anti consumer practises. The other one is me as a kid playing Viva Piñata on Xbox in the early 2000s. #Pokopia

Replying to @thetransfemininereview.com

If you're reading this and thinking, "I haven't read any," now's the perfect moment to start! If you're looking for an incomplete list of authors, I wrote an article in 2024 on the subject: thetransfemininereview.com/2024/10/09/b...

thetransfemininereview.com15 Black Transfeminine Novelists You Should Read (CW #6)Fifteen Black transfeminine novelists who you should read now – like right now.

I'm running this! So excited ✨

Typewronger Books@typewronger.bsky.social

Every 2nd Sunday of the month starting from February, our bookseller Alex Victor will be hosting Typewronger's own No Homework Book Club, a format that requires no prior reading! Limited to 12 spaces - info & booking at typewronger.com/events #edinburgh #BookSky💙📚 #bookclub

Recently discovered 2/3 of the books I was most excited to get from my wishlist are either out of print, US only, obscure novellas, were never physical books to begin with, or a mix of those things. Post-holiday shopping is gonna turn into a treasure hunt 💀

I really hope this sets a precedent that shows developers that AI use is not something the player base wants to see. Ever.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 developer Sandfall Interactive is finding itself in hot water over its use of AI generated assets in developing the game.

Congratulations on the win following the Clair Obscur debacle 🎉 this game lives rent free in my mind

There is no AI used in Blue Prince. The game was built and crafted with full human instinct by Tonda Ros and his team at @dogubomb.bsky.social. It is the result of eight years of development, fuelled by imagination and creativity, and we are extremely proud of what Tonda has achieved.

Got the delightful @samfern.bsky.social to do a professional developmental review of my novella's first draft – a first ever for me – and oh my god now I just want to shut myself in and write but I need to wait until life is less... *gestures at everything* 10/10 would recommend

This has been an absolute gut punch and something that CANNOT go ahead.

We need your help. @waterstones.bsky.social, without any direct communication with us, will be opening their 6th Edinburgh branch less than 100 metres from our front door at the Foot of the Walk in Leith. Please read on for more information www.heraldscotland.com/news/2562908... (1/2)

Oh this is a brilliant title.

Bookish Scifi & Fantasy@bookishsff.bsky.social

I don't want to give too much away because it's best to just dive in, but new There Is No Antimemetics Division by @qntm.org is a brilliant, sinister, mind-bending alien scifi/horror that should definitely be on your TBR... How do you fight a war when you don't remember it's even happening? 💙📚🪐

The day I actually post a review again is also the day I get offered a complimentary copy of a book I was gonna try and source anyway. If this was the universe trying to give me a sign... Bit on the nose 🤏

@jacobgeller.com's How A Game Lives Deluxe Edition showed up on our doorstep today completely by surprise and it already has a full blown photoshoot planned. This is a wonderful piece of art, not only because of the writing, but because of its design, materials, colours – everything. Wonderful.

If you're trying to figure out where to donate this Pride season, whether its your own money or a corporate fund there's only one good answer at this point- DIRECTLY TO TRANS GFMS KO-FIS AND FUNDRAISERS. If you want to make actual change, since we know policymakers won't do shit, this is where.

Some clarity on this mess is greatly appreciated. Hug a trans loved one today.

February is the month I finally purge my #TBR and I've never done this before and I'm scared but IT'S TIME. This number hasn't budged in months, maybe a year - there's no way I still wanna read all of these 🤡 #BookSky 📚💙

Read Absolution when it came out, then restarted the whole series, and now about to come full circle by reading Absolution again. I'm so excited, having read the last three back to back, I feel like I'm going into this one with my third eye wide open 👁️ #SoutherReachSeries #JeffVanderMeer #BookSky 💙📚

That's a wrap on 2024! 🎇 Last year I read 60 books (~18.5k pages), less than 2023's 86 books (~25.5k pages), but still very good! Both years had an average score of 3.7⭐, so still a solid score! My 2025 challenge will be to do more re-reads, and I'm already loving it! #BookSky 📚💙
