honestly really funny that if you just go by the text of arknights and the analogies made about "cloudbeasts" you'd think they're some kind of science fiction cat. but then you see the actual concept art in the lore book and they're actually cat-sized goats.

like. you get a lot of references to burdenbeasts and you can immediately gather that they're analogous to oxen. and when you actually see them they're kind of a wooly rhino/triceratops situation. but that's not nearly as surprising as a cloudbeast's actual design.

sometimes they play their part perfectly and leave no loose ends or lacunae that are worth taking into your own hands. they're well-written. too well-written to be usable for shipping or headcanons or alternate universes, or even to wonder about unmentioned details of their personhood.

personal favorite Zenos hc of mine is that he is moderately face blind. He struggles to differentiate people by facial features. Smthng that adds to the microcosm of why he's generally indifferent to people, and why it seems he only values actions/merits as identifying factors.

I like to draw Zenos fat bc I personally think it further accentuates his angelic beauty 🤷‍♀️ and thus lends further contrast to his wicked intelligence and scary violent tendencies 🤷‍♀️
