Wrote a rant.. for all my unproductive founder friends πŸ˜… Productivity is the first problem every founder needs to solve. You can find amazing ideas, write great code, use every new AI tool in the market. #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers

And all of productivity boils down to just 2 things - intention and reflection Every productivity book talks about this - Atomic Habits, Slow Productivity, GTD or anything else.. Fundamentally - all of them point to the same thing - Set intentions, do shit, then reflect! Repeat πŸ”ƒ

Introduced quarterly pricing for my community. Only had 6 month, annual and lifetime passes before this. I never liked short term members. Folks who just come in, make a ton of noise, do a lot of self promo, and leave without adding much value. #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers

Long term plans invite long term members. But people have told me that they would like shorter plans to try out the community first, before committing long term. Which makes sense. So giving quarterly memberships a shot now. Lets see how it goes 🀞

Such a cool vibe in our monthly mastermind call last night.. And founders from such diverse backgrounds 🀩 - People who are doing $0 to people who are doing $150K+ - Someone doing pure b2b enterprise SaaS, to someone doing an influencer business #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers

- Someone who is a freelancer and never worked a job in his life, to someone building projects on the side, along with their 9-5 We had members who are 24 years old, and we had members who are 41 years old.

We even had 2 amazing indie film makers with us this time.. So grateful that they captured our cozy meetup and made this beautiful after movie to celebrate it πŸ™ Thanks everyone who joined.. Until next time πŸ‘‹

So back in December 2023, I started hosting these 2-3 day meetups for my founder friends across India. We meet every 6 months, share what we've learned in our businesses, what's working, what's not working.

I'm not convinced with any of the AI SEO tools out there.. They produce substandard content which is useless to humans. Any real person reading an AI generated article will hate it and go away from your website. #Buildinpublic #indiehackers #seo #ai

AI may help you generate hundreds of articles in minutes, but it will end up hurting your brand in the long term. Don't be penny wise, pound foolish The long term winning bet is to actually write useful content manually with AI assistance for research, editing, clean up etc.

And we're back.. Sunday = learning to code with @marclou.bsky.social Today's topics - - Intro to React - Tailwind CSS This gets me to around 30% of the course I think. 2 or 3 more Sundays I should be able to finish the course and start shipping micro apps LFG πŸš€ #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers

Just finished my 5th 36 hour fast in the last 6 months. Just water and black coffee over 36 hours - Dinner on Friday - Bfst on Sunday - No meals on Saturday The impact on my mind and body is amazing Feel energized and revitalized. Highly recommended! #BuildinPublic

A tech YouTube channel reached out asking for sponsorship. They review AI tools on their channel. They have 3M subscribers. Their average video gets - - 15K views - 500 Likes - 25 comments Maybe these are good numbers. #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers

Who is still blogging? Not the SEO kind, but the personal kind? Do you take time to write down personal reflections learning on a blog? I used to enjoy reading founder blogs back in the day, but hardly find anyone blogging these days.. #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers

Good stuff Beehiiv I love researching, writing and sending my newsletter every week. And now I'm getting paid for it as well 🀩 And more than the money its fun to run ads from brands like Hubspot, Morning Brew, Nike 🀯 #buildinpublic #indiehackers

If I want to keep the right people in, I need to provide them value. Gradually I'll move completely to a recurring model, and remove the lifetime option altogether. Need to test the pricing a bit more before that.

So far, in the last 6 months, although bulk of the revenue came in the form of one time payments, there are still some members who chose the 6/12 month passes. Crossed $400 MRR today with their help 🀩 Slow and steady we grow 🐒

Folks who are not the right fit churn away automatically. The community remains lean and tight knit. As it should be. Plus this model also keeps me accountable to keep providing recurring value to the community. Its not set it and forget it.

Don't do 12 startups in 12 months Pick 1 idea And solve 6 problems in 6 months - - MVP - Customer Feedback/Interviews - Launch - Traffic - Churn - Conversion #BuildinPublic #IndieHackers

Setting intentions instead of resolutions for 2025 "More X, Less Y" type framing instead of rigid goals which I may or may not be able to meet. Helps me incorporate the unquantifiable things in life - which are more important than the quantifiables Lets see how it goes 🀞 #BuildInPublic

I'm a big fan of books 🀩 A book is a great tool to learn in a few hours what someone else has taken years to master. I buy books compulsively, read chapters and sections that I like, and move on when I get bored. These are the books I read (and liked) this year - #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers
