It has come to our attention that handheld manufacturer Anbernic has been promoting their latest handheld device, the RG DDS, using unofficial piracy-focused forks of Azahar, and has been openly featuring these forks in their advertising material.

After some internal discussion, we have decided that we will NOT be officially supporting this device or others from this manufacturer: Any issues or bugs related to devices from this specific manufacturer will not be investigated or resolved.

If you would like to stay on a device with guaranteed official support, we recommend looking for alternatives. Thank you for your understanding.

馃帳馃憟 Is this on? We did an interview about Azahar! If you're interested in reading some behind-the-scenes details about Azahar and the developers behind it, you can read the article linked below! Huge thanks to Dash from The Byrant Review for reaching out. gardinerbryant.com/inside-azaha...

Azahar 2126.1 has been released! It contains many improvements and fixes which didn't make it into the base 2126.0 release, many of which are stability improvements.

From the Azahar Team, we are happy to see our emulator being used in a wide variety of Android devices, and we will keep working towards broader compatibility. However, we also want to make it clear that we don't have any commercial affiliation with any device manufacturers.

Keep in mind the 3DS GPU uses programable vertex shaders, so it doesn't expose the neccessary data to create a "perfect" freecam. Instead a lot of per scene manual tuning is needed.

The 3DS audio processor firmware is capable of applying post-processing effects, such as reverb and echo. None of them were implemented in Azahar... until now! Enable audio 馃帶 :

Echo is now implemented in the HLE backend and will be available in version 2127. This was made possible thanks to the documentation left by MerryMage in the codebase years ago. The reverb effect is fully undocumented, so it will need more research.

Azahar 2126 has been released! This version includes Android multiplayer room functionality, GDB improvements and many accuracy improvements and bugfixes!

[TECHNICAL]: The 3DS' unique PICA200 GPU is a box full of surprises! Read below how we recently discovered and fixed a render issue in Azahar caused by a PICA quirk/bug, and how this rainbow looking triforce is related to it.

We have published Release Candidate 3, which mostly addresses some crashes. If you were having issues with multiplayer on Android we recomend updating.

We are currently doing a performance evaluation survey for the Azahar iOS/iPadOS RetroArch core to determine minimum hardware spec recommendations for Apple's non-Mac hardware. To any users with relevant iPhone/ iPad hardware, please consider filling out the survey below: forms.gle/ztkASsyYoGTk...

An official guide to install Pretendo on Azahar is now available! If you want to use true online multiplayer functionality with 3DS cross play and bring back Miiverse, this guide is for you!

We're happy to announce that we now have a guide for using Pretendo with the Ahazar 3DS emulator! Check it out: pretendo.network/docs/install...

This wouldn't have been possible without the contributions of GitHub users Kleidis and lannoene, for Android multiplayer features and DLP improvements respectively.

Please note that these features are far from complete, and official public rooms are still unavailable. Please give us some time to cook all of this!

We have started hosting a backup of Citra's website before it was taken down. This page is a snapshot of the site as it was on March 4th 2024, with a few modifications that have been disclosed.

We created this archive to preserve all blog and wiki entries in a more accessible place, and because we noticed that searching for "Citra" on Google led to fake official-looking websites filled with ads and other questionable practices.

Azahar 2125.1.2 has released. This is an unscheduled release to put into action new security policies we have enabled in light of the recent TeamPCP supply chain attacks that affected other big open source projects.

Azahar was NOT compromised by the aforementioned attacks and our users are safe. We are just being proactive and adding security measures to our release distribution process as a preventative measure.

More progress towards full 3DS system emulation! :D The notification LED is now implemented on Azahar (look at the bottom right corner). Desktop only for now, until someone figures how to integrate it in Android.

Azahar 2125.0 Alpha 1 has been released. This test version includes some neat features, such as a Vulkan disk shader cache! We highly encourage everyone to give it a try, but keep in mind that it may still be unstable.

The disk shader cache helps removing stutter on applications after the first playthrough. The feature should also bring performance improvements which are noticeable even before the cache is generated.
