When Republicans know what they want is unpopular, they lie. They deceive. They blow smoke up everyone’s ass It’s what they do. Half a century covering America’s reddest state taught me that

ProPublica@propublica.org

Missouri's Amendment 3 would restore an abortion ban with limited exceptions, but its ads focus on a different provision: banning gender transition care for minors. The campaign website never explicitly states it would repeal the constitutional right to abortion voters approved 2 years ago.

Get used to mornings they said. If you make it a habit you'll be a morning person they said. Six years and mornings I'm still filled with rage I have to be up, yet 2am the long way still calls to me.

The mood of the day. Watching a coworker quietly get up to go get a broom right after I state, in complete seriousness "Well lets see if this is when I electrocute myself."

In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand: "There was a leak."

Zoo had an event tonight where it was open 5-9:30 where only people 21+ were allowed in. Seriously, there needs to be more "adult swim" things like that where people can just get away from kids for a bit.

I want to post something positive here. Not to be a stream of just angry frustration. But I'm just staring at the blank screen and just have nothing.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! That is all...

I always said a pessimist is never disappointed. Somehow the world apparently wants to keep telling me I'm apparently an optimist.

I've been a pessimist for years. Being a pessimist means at least surprises are good ones. Well today taught me there are still optimistic feelings because somehow things are worse than I expected.

Disassemble bed. Alright this was way easier than previous times and… wait. Where is the replacement part? Am I out of them? Fuck.

ICU today "We're getting better about calling in broken equipment!" Two out of nine pieces of equipment had work orders *that I found* The fact that they are correct about being better calling things in just somehow makes it worse.

Ugh. The wonderful game of 'is this sick or am I just that exhausted?' I don't want to hide under covers all day but damn I feel like I've decided to take a round against a bus

Folks there are 30 states having local elections next year. Not 2026. Oklahoma has local primaries on February 11th! Want to take back our democracy? RUN!!!!

your school boards and community boards need you. they’ve been getting pummeled by qanon/antivax/transphobic conspiracy theorists.

God I wish there was a way to make sure sports weren't on my feed I live in a city that sports are a big thing, but I want to know other stuff happening. I mute accounts like crazy but good lord, you'd think if a game wasn't happening the city doesn't exist.

Ugh. Going through Bluesky and trying to find local stuff. Muting all the sports channel stuff, and it's still mostly sportsball. The level of I don't care cannot begin to be expressed

Adulting is sometimes sitting in a house with no power while an electrician works on it and trying not to watch over their shoulder because of boredom and knowing +$1000 bill is coming from this. Adulting sucks.
