Today, President Barack Obama and I read to a group of toddlers at Learning Through Play Pre-K Center in the South Bronx.  In between singing wheels on the bus, we discussed our administration’s vision for this City — one where New York’s Cutest have the strongest start possible.

This is how our government has been corrupted: 1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians 2) Elected officials rewrite rules in donors' favor 3) Donors make huge profit 4) Repeat We must get big money out of politics. It’s the root of all evil in Washington.

Social media platforms are deliberately designed to keep us hooked, no matter the cost to our mental health & well-being. And hateful content online no longer comes down to just bad actors. The problem is bad platforms. More from @imranahmed.bsky.social on Offline with @jonfavs.bsky.social ⤵️

Some day we'll all regret this & we'll hold hearings & rend garments & pledge "never again" & we'll be just as full of shit as we were last time.

What's more shocking than ICE's plan to cram as many 8,500 humans into massive, soul-crushing warehouses? Seeing the actual DHS floor plan that echoes slavery ships and history's worst gulags with no rec space but a gun range for guards My new column on the camps www.inquirer.com/opinion/ice-...

The fact that Matthew Dowd lost his job for pointing out Charlie Kirk’s hate speech, while Brian Kilmeade openly suggests we should euthanize the homeless and there is zero outrage, shows exactly what is terribly wrong with today’s political mainstream media.

The largest SNAP cuts in history went into effect yesterday, eliminating or drastically cutting food assistance for millions of Americans. And it’s all to pay for more tax cuts that primarily benefit the super-rich. Trickle-down economics isn't just a hoax — it's cruel.

NEW: Over the years, Texas legislators have declined to pass at least three bills that would create siren or alert systems, a tool that Kerr County officials tried to secure for years before the July 4 flooding. By Lexi Churchill & @lomikriel.bsky.social, w/ @texastribune.org

I was thinking about subscribing to NYT recently, but never doing it. How come they are always siding the side I am not supporting. Perhaps I need to change my news sources. Legacy media is dead. Long live Substack and YouTube channels.

Thoroughly enjoying triggering all the right people the past 2 days with my post on Mamdani and the NYT. Your outrage and racism and meltdowns are the sugar of my chai. Happy 4th of July weekend. Also, Mamdan is going to win. Inshallah ;)

“The New York Times collaborated with a white nationalist eugenicist hacker and agreed to keep his identity a secret to publish a Zohran Mamdani hit piece” is a way bigger story than “18 year old Zohran Mamdani ticked ‘African American’ on his Columbia application because he was a citizen of Uganda”

The fact that the this was just the race for democratic candidate for the Mayor that his bring Muslim and an immigrant, aside from a progressive socialist, stirred emotion all over the world in so many spheres shows how hard it is for a non traditional candidate in the US to make it big here.

I don’t remember this much pride or opposition for Sadiq Khan proving that perhaps in UK Brown Muslims are more accepted as part of the British people and they can achieve what a White Brit can do without having to proves 1000% better than others.

What the Dem party doesn’t understand is that the election in NYC is a test for the 26 midterms. Young people are testing to see if they will ever be allowed to assert their priorities over the priorities of monied interests who buy elections like Bloomberg, and old school patrons like Cuomo.
