I’m reading Middlemarch, on recommendation by esteemed author @monizahossain.bsky.social, and I come across mention of the Green Dragon inn or pub, and I thought, that sounds familiar. Well, duh, I know it from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I love little finds like this. Carry on.

There is hope for us all. I got a delivery while power in our building was out. I went to the lobby to let the driver in and pick it up. This young person had other deliveries in the building so I let her in the stairway (controlled entry). She had a delivery on the 17th floor and walked all the way

Eh? I’m not hiding.

I’ve experienced this, and discovered the term for it when I looked up what was happening because I thought it was weird.

I knew about the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon (aka the “frequency illusion,” where a new-to-you word or item suddenly seems to appear EVERYWHERE) but until today I did not know there was a #LocalAngle to the term — it was coined by a Pioneer Press commenter in the 90s

Happy April, Friends! 🌷 This song is called "Bound by a Thread". 🧵 It is about the people who have meaningfully impacted our lives, as if you were destined to meet. Haha when I wrote it I realized it was too high for me to sing so I had to stretch my vocal cords in order to reach the high notes! 🤣

Strongly encourage all academics, novelists, reporters, bloggers, whatever to just email this account and state that you want to opt out of this idiocy. Overload them with emails and make them regret they ever tried this shit. expertoptout@superhuman.com

I've decided that instead of wasting my own time to see if Grammarly has stolen my name and writing for use their business, I'd just email them to opt out and make them waste some time cleaning up their own goddamn mess. www.platformer.news/grammarly-ex...

I’m probably well over 100. Which could explain why I don’t really know why Spotify is. Eh? What?

NPR@npr.org

Spotify Wrapped is bluntly telling users their "listening age," which in many cases is several decades older or younger than their actual age. It's a calculated strategy. n.pr/48ScByQ
