When I was a child in the church, hearing adults regularly say "the lack of faith in the world is scary, how do people not murder and rape each other constantly without religion?" was always alarming, because even then I understood it was projection. The underlying assumption is far worse!

Do people not realize how insulting it is to victims of actual CSA to say that lolicon otaku are worse than or equivalent to real predators? It is unbelievably dehumanizing to try and compare thought "crimes" with life altering trauma. Like how little do you value human life and experience?

CSP being pressed to take even just /kissing/ off their asset store and FA being told that plus sized characters are considered adult should be a giant waving red flag to folks. Sex workers have /always/ been right to say these policies never stop with 1 type of content. They always wanna ban more.

A friend asked me about the time the original author of sonic.exe tried to fake his death to get out of refunding me $20 for a commission he owed me and I realized Iโ€™ve never shared that story here on Bluesky

I work at a bookstore. The whole thing is seeing the ideas other people put out into the world and exposing yourself to that. Everything about this future is like, antithetical to the very few things I like about it and I donโ€™t know what they expect to happen with this other than mass immiseration

exactly this. if we can no longer broadly agree, as a social unit of social creatures, that human endeavor and human dignity have worth and are in fact likely the point, why bother? what is this world we are constructing. why is anyone even walking around and going anywhere

they have no idea what they're doing. and it would be kind to say they do not care. they care a lot! they are spinning the cylinder and pulling that trigger and hoping with every fiber of their being that they blow the head off society. it's wild

We didn't know what we had with developers attempting to bridge the gap between Musou and Devil May Cry before Dark Souls got super popular.

A redditor keeps insisting in increasingly aggressive replies to me that there are no storage constraints with pre-32bit game translations because there are over 2000 common kanji and that takes more bits to store than the English alphabet. I'm so sorry but you all have to share my pain now.

It is all in a thread asking about why zero wing and other shmups have awkward translation. I already covered budget and access to translators / localizers from both sides, but OP question was about lack of grammatical correctness. Hardware and software constraints were a big part of it too!

It's not good because it's Linux, it's good because the unix philosophy encourages sane and ergonomic design. When you remove that aspect, there's no reason to use Linux unless you enjoy friction or for the aesthetics I guess. I'm not even talking about SteamOS or ArcOS, etc. those are purposeful

One thing that is unfortunate about more adoption of Linux in the consumer space is the death of unix philosophy. No one understands the benefits of atomic software anymore and a lot of even FOSS software is trending towards tightly coupled monolithic design, which defeats the purpose of using linux

Why is it so hard to find a small desktop digital clock with a count up timer / stopwatch function. I refuse to believe that this product doesn't exist but I haven't been able to find something suitable that isn't extremely low rated alie stuff for gym time tracking or massive wall displays.

I haven't advertised this in a while so: I also run a blog about Japanese bubble era (1980s to early 90s) aesthetics. If you enjoy retro Japanese style, consumerism, and pop culture (which presumably you do if you follow this account), check out BUBBLISM here: bubblism.jp

If they release a Tegenaria (not-Lite) with locking triggers, 4 paddles (instead of 2), and a detachable cable, and maybe a variant with Xbox layout, there wouldn't be a reason to buy anything else. Would be like $25-30 too probably. I would love to see a real 1000hz+ wireless version too

One of the most surprising qualities is that the dpad isn't an afterthought. It's the best one that's ever been on a PlayStation style controller and only beaten by Saturn Model 2 and the GuliKit Elves 2. I would take it over any 8bitdo or Retro-Bit dpad. Never expected that. This thing just slaps.

And the Rocket League sickos are right, these analog sticks are also peak. Zero drift and a perfect deadzone default. Would be nice if there was more customization for the deadzone in principle but I've never wanted for it. They are so clean that raw input mode is completely usable too.

GuliKit Elves 2 was my go-to because of the d-pad (incredible) and the wireless polling rate, almost nothing else is comparable. I bought Tegenaria Lite just to have a PS layout for 3D games without worrying about latency. Within a few months it became my main and now it's basically all I use.

GameSir Tegenaria Lite is GOATed. It is $16 and clears every elite controller on the market in responsiveness, reliability, stability, and overall feel. It's one of those products that's not "good for its price", it's not good because it's cheap, it's good AND cheap.

If we wanna cut these off at the source, stop sharing them, stop making videos about them, stop hosting them on your websites. Stop giving talentless hacks the attention they crave. Stop rewarding them for defiling our hobbies.
